professional poker players began to emigrate from Russia

They only did this because payment operators will not pay russian players. pokerstars does not care about the war, its a straight business decision because they can not payout russian players who are trying to withdraw.

Hopefully there will be a solution for this soon.

The actions of the Russian government against Ukraine are economically and socially affecting Russian citizens who from one day to the next saw many assets frozen that they had with their own efforts, I hope that this madness of the Russian government ends now and that the consequences do not fall on the Russian people in general since the majority are not in favor of an unnecessary war that has already taken many lives, hopefully they will reconsider. God bless you.

This money on Russians' accounts are not Pokerstars' , they are Russians' , PS to forbid withdraws to Russians is unacceptable . Of course with all these sanctions from countries and financial institutions and world organisations maybe it's impossible regardless

I think this is a temporary measure and in a month everything will be as before.

Why do players have to pay for their politicians' political decisions? I can not understand.

The people, as you put it, generally speaking, share the responsibility. I don't think Putin voted himself into office (maybe the last few times). If i drive a car at 100mph and jump off and it crashes into a bus station filled with people, am I not to blame?

The truth is that it seems quite unfair to me that they make those kinds of decisions against players who have nothing to do with the political decisions of their leaders. It is true that it is a way of making Russia see that it is acting badly by starting a war. but the poker community in russia I don't think it's enough or maybe I'm wrong and if they are
enough and if there are enough Levante in protest against their leaders since they are harming them economically. Yes, I agree that Russia be drastically sanctioned
but in other ways and mainly there must be ways to sanction their leaders. but not to the people and the civilian population.

Putin can only be overthrown from within. Sanctions mainly affect the people (players too), so they can put pressure on leaders or replace them. Of course, in a post-communist country, how will it work.

I wish, you are right. But I fear the more realistic outcome is, that a new "iron curtain" has been put up in Europe, and that it will be in place for at least a generation. And if you are east of this "iron curtain", you might soon no longer even have access to "western" internet sites like this one, because Putin will want to cut you off from information, he does not control.

This is a stupid decision. The players are not to blame for anything. Why mix politics with poker. These pokerstars admins are freaks.

I feel bad for the players who need that money for everyday living. It looks like the UN is squeezing everything Russia depends on. Stay safe and be well.

Going through a war is the worst thing a human being can experience and even though these sanctions are aimed at Russia I think this is an option to show Russia that you don't agree with the war that is going on at the moment. I don't think pokerstars has anything against russian players either, but the transactions to and from russia are currently difficult or even impossible to do. So they have no choice but to react like that. The thought that innocent people and especially children will be harmed because of the war hurts my heart and I hope that this madness will be over soon. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who doesn't want this war and was drawn into it anyway.

I wonder how long we were banned from playing at poker stars? It is clear that this is all because of the sanctions and the blocking of our cards abroad. Inability to conduct cash transactions. We would make an exception for Cardchat participants) But what can we do, we are hostages of the current situation in the world. Let's wait for the weather from the sea, friends, hold on!

The war will end sooner or later. Nobody knows when, maybe one week, or months. But when it's over, a huge race will start for the Russian market. The wise big companies havent left this country they just "suspended working" there (eg. McDonalds).

Let's say the war ends tomorrow. How long do these sanctions last at the minimum? Can they be revoked any minute?
