Nice post, Four Dogs. Funny thing about rakeback, and I'm sure I'm in the minority about this.... I hate it. That's also one of the reasons I went with Stars originally. Stars had a very straight-forward policy...everyone earns the same % back based on amount played (VIP level).

With traditioanl rakeback it's always, imo, such a pain and adds just another level of "messiness" that I'd rather not have to deal with. First you search for what you think is the best deal, sign-up, and sure-enough a better deal comes along, but you can't get it 'cause you already signed-up through somebody else. Now you're, in effect, playing at a disadvantage to all those who were able to find/get the better deal. I just prefer a level playing field in this area and, as long as the ultimate pay-back is equivalent, prefer Stars model where everyone is equal.

I understand this is not the popular opinion, nor do I expect it to be, but I just prefer to spend my time playing poker rather than constantly searching for a better deal, through a different affiliate, that will pay me 1% more rakeback than the next guy.

I know what you mean about the rakeback thing.
I had a deal at FTP and it was sweet to get something back but I never really
allowed it to get in the way of my poker.
poker stars has a much fairer way IF you play all the time but if you are like
me (and probably a lot of others) real life gets in the way and you play when
you can.

Either way, let’s hope both PS and FTP come back to the US market soon.

Just my 2¢

I defiately hope both PS and a new FTP get back to the US market soon, and as I said I realize that I'm in the minority on the rakeback question. That just shows that there is no one right answer for everyone. I just found it interesting that many on here are staunchy in favor of RB, and list that as one of the main things they'd like to see in a new site. Myself, I'm just the opposite. I'd rather skip the whole affiliate/rakeback dance and just have the site itself take care of all that, have it be a reasonable amount, an have a level playing field. I realize my approach isn't for everybody, nor do I expect it to be.

For US players to be allowed.

I would be in heaven if I could play on a site that had some serious traffic on 45s, 90s, and 180s SNG's.

this.

+ is FTP going to be US friendly? no correct? and if by some miracle it is US friendly, Id love to see a "micro millions-like" promotion. $.11 entry to win $17,000 omg

I'd like to see it disappear again but with everyone keeping their money this time.

I only played there because of the rb and even that's not enough any more.

I thought the rb deal was pretty much a flat standard rate for everyone at 27%. Seems easy a shit to work out. Stars was always deemed more complex that FT imo.

I really liked the FTP software, it was the best IMO.
Don’t really care about Rush, need rakeback.

I would imagine if they re-open in the US we will probably have to sign up again.
I wonder if we will be allowed the same names etc.?

Nah, FTP will let US players play for play money and such just like you can on Stars, so you will keep your username and if it ever opens up to the US again, you will use the same username you always did.

I love everything about FT and, for me, I would not change anything. The software is so superior than PS, Rush Poker is by far my favorite fast poker game and I do so much better in FT tournaments than in PS ones.

I hope they bring the home game feature over so we could do some special events there.

Full Tilt had something similar starting just before it closed so it should be possible. Not sure whether or not it was just real money though. Would be sweet.

1) An aggressive rakeback program to get liquidity to rival P*'s right away: 30--40% for the first 3-6 months.

GET LIQUIDITY IMMEDIATELY.

2) No more METs...horrible for the MTT economy, just awful.

3) Lots of low rake SNG games..build up those games so people have an alternative to stars...have promotions that reward volume, get those people playing a lot and people getting used to immediate seating in 45s/90s and only a couple minutes wait for 180s.

As for cash, I think the aggressive RB would be enough for a site that was always very competitive in the ring games.

Just wondering how much of a hassel it will be to get my $ out of full tilt
now.

"In a Solomon-like solution, PokerStars is acquiring Full Tilt for $731 million, with the lion's share going to a fund, administered by the Department of Justice, to repay players. But the sites can't pay players directly because U.S. gaming laws prohibit online poker payments.
The DoJ has Full Tilt's records, which will enable players to claim their balances, he said. Players will need to file a DoJ "petition of remission" for victims of fraud."

I enjoyed playing on FTP but did like the PS software a bit more. Personally, I'd like to see my doomswitch gone. With an MTT sample size in the thousands for PS and FTP, I was a solid winner on PS and a loser (overall) on FTP :(

I was not a winning player when US players were allowed. I woul like to see US players on the new FT :D Simply the field will double and jeucy tables no matter the time.
Also i want rb. I did not known about rb when i opened the account. I was about to change my name and open a new one for RB:D If they will keep the RB for the old players probabely i'll do that.

I'm surprised that no one else seems to like the ME tourneys. They made the higher buyins a helluva lot harder but the micros were really soft. Fishy idiots buying in 4 times. Loved it.

Yeah, but it's a long term thing. It means that better players will win more and fish will lose more, quicker, which is bad for the game.

Sure don't understand that logic. If you didn't/don't like it, don't play there. But a lot of other people do like it it a lot! Why should you wish it to disappear again?
