Who's 'assuming' here (where did I mention ANYTHING about tracking software in my post.... I don't use tracking software).
Good to see you've progressed in your game, realizing how much anonymous poker sucks (compared with 'non'-anonymous).
yeah, sorry 'bout that friend.
at the time I wrote my first opinion I was working on the "assumption" that the folks who didn't like Bovada were players who relied too heavily on software. My thoughts were "Oh, waaaa...just observe them and make notes just like you do live"
...but now... I realize that even live when I first sit down with all new players I'm never really "readless" if a player is a 23 year old scandinavian kid watching the action like a hawk, or a 77 year old tax attorney doing the crosswrod in his cardigan...vs a middle aged guy chewing tobacco and focused on watching the football game I've got an MO for those stereotypes....until I learn more about them....and as time goes on I'm never really at a table with all new faces there's usually at least 1 or 2 I've played with before...it's a starting point at least.
and when playing live it feels worthwhile to spend my time watching for betting patterns and
tells because I know that even if I don't get a chance to use that info today...it may come in handy sometime in the future.
on Bovada...even though I "can" make notes it seems so pointless all that work goes to waste a few minutes later when that player busts or I bust, sometimes even seconds later all my observations and typing go down the toilet.
so, in short, yes I agree it becomes kinda boring "mickey mouse" or "ABC" or "Robot" poker which certainly has it's place but it's not what I am looking for in a
poker site.
