Bovada VS Carbon: which do you prefer?

The SnG's at Bovada fill much faster than they do at Merge.

Once we learn the lobby's at Merge, they are actually very flexible and make game selection easy, and the variety is the best we Amerikan'ts could hope for. The anon thing is the striking difference between Bovada and all other sites. I have learned that it is not as bad as I thought.

Been playing on both sites as well now, just joined Bovada recently but I'm definitely liking Carbon better. I'm not too fond of the anonymous system they have set up and their software could be improved

Back when I started play pokerThere was only two places casinos were allowed in the United States. So yes I did travel a lot and you always met new people. Most poker games back then were in a room out behind the bar. Where there was anywhere from two to five tables. The room was so Filled smoke you could cut it with a knife. Got money at both sites - hardly ever play at Bovada(probably should cash out)
Bovada- No HUD. Some wouldn't play online without. I'm neutral.
- No seat preference - hate that.
-Note taking on players only good for that game - hate that.
- # of players and game selection more limited.

hate all of the above myself but since i play strictly mtt and sng iys not such a big deal as if playing ring games, i play strictly bovada.

Bovada is my favorite. They allow you to cashout sooner than any site.

How are the microstakes MTT (say, $5 and under) at Bovada and Carbon? Back when I played a lot, I loved playing the Daily Dollar at Full Tilt, and I played a lot of similar tournaments at Stars.

I just noticed that Merge does not offer 6 seat DoN's, while Bovada might offer 10 seat DoN's but they don't fill fast. The 6 seat DoN's fill very fast at Bovada.

IMHO, there is no reason on earth to play a 10 seat DoN when a 6 seat DoN is available.

Could get into a big philosophical debate about it, but I think it boils down to wanting some time to evaluate my opponents style and being able to adjust. HU just has that instant death 'thing' , with no forgiveness.

FWIW, I hated it for a long long time, but stood back and re-evaluated, and decided it just ain't that important. Yeah we have no HUDs on them, but, they have no HUDs on us! So that anonymous thing no longer bothers me.

And since I am migrating to live games, to a small extent, it mimics a live environment. However, after not too many live games we do start seeing the same players again and again.

I am in germany, and I tried to access my bodog acct. the other day, and VOILA..... I cant. They no longer allow German IPs to open the room. I have money there (I think, unless I went on a drunken donking spree) and dont know how much. Its been a while since I played there.

No email letting me know this was on the way, nothing.

I dont really care for Carbon anymore, but FU bodog.

I enjoy Bravada I deposited a total of $40.00 two weeks ago and my BR is at $84.00. Their customer service is fantastic in my opinion. I just downloaded Carbon: so far it is okay. I will play the small tourneys to check it out. I do like their min deposit though $10.

Carbon has my vote. Been playing there since before Black Friday. Afterwards, I stayed and played freerolls and Funsteps. I've made a few small deposits there since black friday and profited very nicely.
I much rather be able to keep notes, etc... on other players. But most of all, they have a much larger selection of real money tournaments for cash... round the clock.... not so many satellites.... those are okay, but not really my thing. I like the instant gratification of winning $$$ at the end of a tournament.

What part of the US do you live in? All the sites I know of roll up by 2AM EST, and the pickings get real slim.

Before BCP left merge there was almost enough late night action to be considered 'round the clock', but since they left it just ain't the same.

Idk if $10 games are below your roll, but Bovada runs a fair amount of 500 & 1k gtds throughout the night. No overlay but easy fields.

No note taking anonymous is nothing like live play. In live play you can see the people remember who they are and remember how they play. you can even pull out a note pad and write down notes. Why Bovada messed this up is beyond me. I actually really liked the fact they are based out of canada.
Anyone know where carbon is ? I think it might be Britan, that would be cool with me..

Used to love Carbon, now not so much.

They scrapped my 35% rakeback without giving a reason....

Then they promise VIP will be close to as lucrative, but for most of the players on CC it'll be like 10-14% effectively.


Now, they POP THE RAKE UP from 10-22% effectively!!!!

THE JUST DID THIS ON THE 1ST AND HAVE BEEN TRYING NOT TO ADVERTISE IT!!!

Please, if you enjoy playing on Carbon or another Merge skin, left the company know this rake EXPLOSION will kill the games there eventually!!

Since I started playing online again after black friday bovada has been the only site i have played at.
I never really cared for carbon in the past,didnt really like there software or setup at all....
I have had no problems with bovada what so ever , I have withdrawed from there several times and always went smooth.
So bovada would be my clear choice.
