Free rolls, I’m mean who really takes the time to sit through the chaos of that? To make the top 50 in a field of 600-1000 all or nothing bingo players.? I mean literally pennies that your rewarded for 3 hrs of dodging land mines....

I don't mind the rebuys, I mean bankrolling is part of poker right? It also wouldn't make sense for casinos to do freeroll with no benefit besides rake. I never do rebuy in freeroll myself and just see how far I can get. Lol I try to tell myself the ones who buy to stay in are still the same bad players and if they want to bring more chips to lose then that's fine by me ;P

The bad players that go all in pre flop in free roll tournaments may double up a few times but will lose to a skilled player in the end. For that reason I do rebuy in free roll tournaments. When people are done playing bingo the smoke clears and the real players shine.

The frustrating part about re-buy tournaments is the all in nature of every other hand in the first few hours. Getting ran down with Q9 for all your stack when you decide to join the all-in frenzy with A Paint can take its toll on ones patience to say the least. Crybaby bad beats aside, it can take a minute to get into a grove in re-buys with the constant threat of having to play for all your chips just to see a flop. Re-buys are definitely a test of discipline.
It's amazing how your discipline and patience can sometimes be smacked down by someone's courage to stick them all in with a marginal hand that morphs into a winner. I believe that staying disciplined late in tournaments will eventually pay off bigger then 8 or 9th place for me. I'm still waiting patiently.

One thing I have found on the cheap rebuys is that many players will play very loosely to get rid of their initial stack so they are able to rebuy putting them at a chip advantage . . . I don't know if it is fair or not, but it is a challenge to outplay them and in the end get their rebuys for free . . .

great point.
its interesting too when you look at alot of these constant freeroll rebuyers and see real quick that they have to finish in top 2-3 to be profitable in that tourney due to all their rebuys/add ons.
moreover, many times i feel in some of these freerolls it pays off not to rebuy or addon - not only to save money for bankroll mgmt - but due to the reckless play frequently seen by the field, I feel its more doable to accumulate chips in dominating situations than other rebuy/add on tournaments .

Some of these tournaments are prom crazy like late registration ends at level 55 in some of the tournaments and all the rebuys and add ons I'm sorry but that's not poker that's trying to buy your way not play your way my opinion a real poker tournament everyone starts play at the same time no late registration no buy ins and no add ons this is when a player's skill can stand out you have to play with a different mind set
