Well about strategy, its actually not just push-fold. You start with 25BBs, and the blinds are not raising too fast.
Just play usual tight-aggressive. The field is quite easy, at least on 2$ ones. But you have to be ready to big swings, because both the pot and the actuall result have big variance.

jackpots also seem softer late night weekends, maybe just more drunk or high players

All the games are softer late night weekends (& on other sites, 'late night' is relative to the different timezones... which typically means it's soft just about ALL the time, lol)

I used to play in these ALL THE TIME. It was actually my preferred mode of playing until I had ran it up to a certain amount. While the $2 ones are the ones I've played most often, my favorite (and 2nd most frequent) is the big one at $40. I've never hit the "jackpot" where all 3 split the max. I've seen it on the board though. One time I remember (surprising because I was playing drunk) winning 3 straight 40s for either 120 or 160 and then the other 2 were 240. Having 1000+ in the account at that point playing $40 sngs seemed silly especially since jackpots are so infrequent and 75% are going to be $80 to winner.
I like playing the also. There is actually more skill involved than I originally thought, but they go very quick. Good luck at the tables! Try to laugh at my post in the official ACR thread :) You do kinda have a tone sometimes, but I won't judge you. I go off a little bit sometimes hehe.

Highest I ever hit was a 10x one, or so. I got AA first hand and got busted 3-way aipf.

Grinding these is brutal - The swings are gross and some of the plays that regs make are unbelievably idiotic.

Doesn't hurt playing a few here and there for a chance to hit a big jackpot.

MOST (read: nowhere near all) of the regs will play differently once a decent jackpot is up for grabs. As an example, the 3 straight big ones I won, it wasn't as simple as catching a terrible aipf on one of the first 5 hands with kk vs 26o or something stupid. It was actually "real" poker all the way through for the most part. On one, I did get REALLY lucky getting it in bad on a cooler like QK vs AQ on q high board and sniped the king to double up.

I mean, good for you(?) but that kinda sucks at the same time.

The same priced NLHE results board shows two $500 wins and ALL of the rest are $200.

So, I mean, obviously, play what you're more comfortable with, but EV looks much better (granted, possibly due to more play) on the HE side.

Personally, I'm not sure I will ever play PLO Jackpots for any amount on there again. As entertaining as it can be to mix in a little splash of "gambling" with our poker, I'm generally turned off by the Jackpots right now for 3 main reasons.

1) Not enough BIG WINS on the board to justify the SUPER REGULAR occurence of playing 3 handed for winner-takes-all double up. You can accomplish the same outcome in a single hand at a cash game.

2) The "turbo" nature of the structure means that far too many players now are doing it purely to "gamble" WPT-style aipf bingo-fest. My skills are much better served in other arenas.

3) This might sound trivial but it took me A WHILE to learn that the rakeback on these games was next to nothing. MOST winning players would say they don't care, but I channel my long since passed inner grandma who lived through the depression and counted every penny. So yeah, maybe I'm being greedy, but for my $40 investment, I want you to give me a shot at a 4 figure outcome AND I want something decent in rakeback, not just pennies on the dollar. This is ONLY because, unlike most live casinos I have played in, there is no Bad Beat Jackpot. I'd actually prefer having that and potentially winning more through that than I did playing at the tables, knowing full well that the odds of winning it are VERY low and the rakeback, while small, is a guarantee.

But yeah, to my original point about PLO: Other than the lower board result payouts, I don't care for the nature of the game. Sure, in NLHE as I already pointed out there are enough AIPF bingo donkeys to ruin any chance at a real game. But even respectable players in PLO will very often base their bet sizing on the size of the pot and will almost always bet full pot when they "think (or know) they have it." This is compared to "real poker" games on that site where most often a "it's mine" bet before the river will be 2/3rd pot at best. So all the POTTING means that 500 chip starting point is in the middle way sooner than I would like, no matter what I have.

Just my opinion. Continued rungood hopefully your way, though.

Jackpot

I had little funds once and play a 2 jackpot one for 16 and figured I had little before so why not play a 10 and won 60. That was my best ever. I lost a 2 for 45 once. Though i win on 8 and an occasional 16 when i do play 2 most jackpots are 4 though. Good strategy is play and don't hit play again instead click out and enter a game a couple mins later. Often it will regenerate a larger pot.

That hasn't been my experience. If, for example, I have around $10, I will play the 2 jacks trying to run it up. If I only win 4 or lose, I will just reenter. Some of my biggest prizes were taken this way.

I've played in so many over the past year that I had one go at least over 20 minutes and I think it was closer to 30 minutes. It was so ridiculous that he didn't have enough to cover the BB and it kept him in. So frustrating, but kinda funny.

P2P Transfers

I know this is Jackpot thread but I dont know where else to ask this question. I'm wondering if there are any players on ARC that are willing to transfer me funds. I of course would transfer back what you transfer me when I double it up. My screen name is AngelAzazel. Thank you for your time and response.

Is that only trading?

It's for trading, yes. At least in the facebook group you can shatter your pride and ask for a loan or donation. 95% of the group is going to laugh at you and ridicule you and at least 10% will ask for it to be deleted and you banned... but you might get a $2 donation out of it. IMO, it's less of a hassle to just try and win money in freerolls.

Another alternative is on here, which is "staking." I'm not linking you to that, you can find it yourself but you're far from ready to take that on yet.

Also, if Dave (who approves the posts) is going to give me a hard time about my attempts, he certainly will with you too once you qualify. In reality, it's not the greatest opportunity, but it is something you can explore later.
