I really feel like you need to play for it and earn it, so no I do not think he should or will get 50 k for the bracelet. I would not pay anything other than what the gold is worth possibly for it.

I would not pay. I prefer to win one of these days. Besides the jewelry for jewelry, I think there are some cool things for that price.

I would never pay for someone else's trophy. hahaha No if I ever won one then I'd sport it but I wouldn't take someone else's and show it off.

Only if the bracelet belonged to a legendary player, which would give it additional value in terms of resale.

I think it will sell easily. There are many fans who love to relay.

Seller but not a buyer

Winning it would be enough and the jewelry wouldn't matter to me- I've gotten rid of the baseball/basketball trophies from childhood. So, I would gladly sell it, especially if I cold get tens of thousands for it, but I would never buy it. Kinda cheesy to buy when you didn't win it, unless you're getting value for the gold and think the commodity price of gold will increase.

“Captain” Tom Franklin won his first and only WSOP bracelet in a 1999 $2,500 limit Omaha tournament for $104,000. He now hopes to get nearly half that cash – $50,000 – for the gold piece of jewelry from a buyer on eBay.

What are the odds he can actually sell the coveted WSOP bracelet for $50k?

I actually play live cash games and tourneys occasionally at the Beau Rivage casino in Biloxi with the Captain. Very nice guy, I wonder why he would want to sell his bracelet? I don't think anyone is gonna bite for 50k tho.

Never. Its not about the prestige of possession, for me as a true poker professional, I will always be about the good feelings that come with winning it!

YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON THAT!

Well

I wouldn't buy it even if I was loaded. Thats a trophy earned in my humble opinion. Seems like it would be the same as any other trophy to me. Good question though.

I would never pay 50k for a bracelet. Hell, I wouldn't pay $1 for a bracelet. As several people have mentioned on this thread, it would be meaningless anyway if it wasn't earned.

Hello,if I had $50K to spend,I wouldn´t use that money to buy a wsop bracelet..I ´d rather travel with my family wherever they want or maybe ,as we are talking about poker, travel to Las Vegas and play the WSOP Main Event.

Absolutely not. The entire value in a bracelet is the ability to play the footage to friends and family, explain your decisions along the way, etc. To me, the bracelet itself is worth the same/maybe slightly more as any other piece of jewelry with the same precious metals and gems.

I would add that a potential buyer could just as easily have a jeweler make a replica of a WSOP bracelet for a fraction of the price. If you don't care that you didn't actually win the thing, you might as well pay 10k instead of 50k.

no shot. as more and more events take place the bracelets are becoming so much less valuable. This would be a horrible investment.

If someone buys that for more than $10, they are very silly.

It is possible to sell a bracelet in a more expensive version if it contains more than 120 grams of gold. If the bracelet is decorated with diamonds, sapphires and emeralds with white gold accents. A mere fifty thousand bracelet is not worth it. Watches can sell for thirty thousand.))

I think the trophy is a reminder and a symbol. It should remind about your hard work and revive good memories. It's impossible if you buy it.

I would pay only what it is worth in gold nothing more, because I would have it melted down and made into something worth wearing.

I agree, and there is no way that there is $50K worth of gold and gems on the bracelet.
