According to the Tourney Lobby, this game was always set at 200 max. Check all the Tourney pics in this thread. Thanks to CAMurray, we know that even before the site officially opened it was set at 200. So forget that last minute argument.

One odd thing is that before the site opened there were already 6 players enrolled. Another odd thing is that the last tourney pic showed 181 remaining and the prize pool was only $18,200, if it maxed out at 200, the prize pool should have been $30K. One part of that tourney pic suggested it did max out.

I think that this is all still in Beta, while they stress test the system, and work out registration issues. Even with the excitement generated, it is entirely within reason they wondered if 200 players would get registered in time to play.

IMHO, if you live and/or can play in Nevada, all you need is a little patience, and all will work itself out.

Nothing strange about that - they had to test the registration process.

I am looking forword to being able to play on regulated interstate sites again.
I am hoping we get all these sites back like poker stars/ fulltilt / ub
I sure miss playing on a real site.
I do like carbon though.
we need all these bills to pass and have our regulated and interstate poker back.

They did cap it to 200 people at the last minute, which was in violation of Nevada Gaming Statutes. It's very frustrating, because many MANY people were unable to register for the tournament after waiting since Tuesday to do so...myself being one of them.

Nowhere on the site was it made clear that they had, and I quote from their reply, "decided to limit it to 200 players" sometime after the tournamente was announced and opened for registration. I checked the rules, the e-mail ads I received, and the tournament details, and nowhere (until late this afternoon after it was full) did they make anyone aware of the cap.

If anyone else was affected by this, I did start a complaint with the gaming board. Who knows, maybe those of us put out of being in the tournament may get a second shot or at least some kind of apology from Station for the trouble.

To add your name to the complaint, you can call the gaming board at 702-486-2020, or 702-486-4000, or you can e-mail them at liaison@gcb.nv.gov . Just tell them you are calling in regards to the filed complaint against Station for the online poker cap in their innagural tournament.

I dont know your motivations for attempting to "Fuk" the site in the eyes of the NGC but if you took the time to read this thread you would see proof that the game was limited to 200 Max as of Tuesday April 30th, aka Day 1.

Im guessing your employed by 888 poker? lol

If you really an unbiased OLP Player and did make a complaint, call them up and apologize for wasting their time.

It wasn't last minute - they did it at least by Friday. I wonder why they would want to cap it - unless they were worried about being able to handle more than that which is strange.

Anyway - during the 30 day trial period they may not be subject to some of the statutes - just speculating.

While it may have been frustrating that you couldn't register after waiting til the last minute to do so - not sure if I would get so upset over missing a poker tournament that I would file an official complaint.

Yea!

This is online poker right? If a software can't handle 200 players, I dont see it lasting very long. Its very strange and it'll definitely hurt in the short term. So many people register last minute or late reg so I was pretty sure there wasn't going to be an overlay.

Be patient, youll have your chance to contribute to my kids college fund soon enough.

What we really want to know is how does the site rate? Is it an ergonomically comfortable table to sit at? Could it handle 50K players playing at once? 9 seat or 10 seat tourney tables? Lag or lack of lag? Stuff like that.

For me, I find the Merge tables the most comfortable Poker table I know of, OLP or live. But it would crash big time with 50K players, and they can't update the lobby in a timely fashion even for a SnG.

Stars on the other hand can handle the huge crowds, but the ergonomic experience is boring, everything works, but eh? not exciting. FT adds some excitement to a functional table capable of handling large crowds.

The tables are very basic, kinda like playing zinga.

I doubt the site could handle large games right now but in time and as needed im sure they will upgrade.

The cards are tiny and the table cannot be stretched.

You cannot make player notes or make many customizations at all.

But given all that, I appreciate the site a great deal and do my best to promote them because they had the balls to get the ball rolling.

Im sure there will be many more sites to follow that I will end up preferring but for now I will support Ultimate Poker on principal.

Zinga bad? Really? That is just a wrong way to start.

Send those programs back to 'User Interface' school. Else 3 days after 888 gets in the picture, UP will have no customers.

On a very general note, it still amazes me how little corporate type schmucks dismiss the needs and wants of the folks they want to take money from. Zinga and Zen are at the top of that really bad poker interface list, and now you have stuck UP in there too.

It is so unfortunate that Zinga is the busiest OLP site in the world purely because it is Facebook poker. But because it has those numbers, the corporate type think the user interface is good?

DJ $91 of the $100 buy in went into the prize pool...200 x $91 is $18,200.

I was not trying to mess up anything for anyone, and I am not arguing that the registrationg page physically had it capped at 200, but the law is clear in NV on posting of rules on any game, online or not. If you are going to advertise to the thousands of Station customers, and you are going to use this "opening" tournament as something to entice them with, the CAP must be included in the rules of the ACTUAL advertisements that went out in the mail, e-mail, and at the casino. It is important to me that if they make me follow the rules of online gaming, they must do the same. After all, in order to successfully take you and all the other donks money, I must be clearly and fully informed in accordance with the law. :ridinghor

The Satellites have 5 minute blinds so you REALLY need to chip up early.

I think online poker will be country wide or completely shut down outside of Nevada within the next 5 years.

The scandal brewing about their ties to the criminals that stole money in the UB episode really make me think twice about having given this site my ss #....wow, the evidence is mounting that those criminals are going to really make another killing here by being the provider of the ID verification process, I just hope the next site (wsop.com??) doesn't use Iovation for their ID provider.

Ultimate Poker is not connected to UB. If you were to read this thread you would have seen that they are not related to each other.

Poor choice of name, first thing I wondered when I read this thread was, do they have links to UB. I now see that they don't.

I built a nice little roll on Ultimate Poker in the past 3 weeks, and made my first withdrawal today, I will update you on how long it takes.

I just wished they had a casino here in Reno to just pull it out.

For all my American CC Friends out there, so depraved of a simple, honest, well run poker game, be patient. We will eventually have not only legal games throughout the nation, but we will be sooo much better off than the rest because of the massive control and regulation that im sure will be mandated.

Money flow in and OUT will be like clockwork and we will not need worry about cheats because I'm sure there will be an entire building of gov-geeks watching out for us. So hang in there

So far, so good with the withdrawal.

Below is an email I received soon after the actual withdrawal.

Were there any fees associated with asking for a check instead of a cage cashout?

There were no fees.

Were you able to use a credit card to deposit? We saw a vid that had a gal run down to the local casino to deposit live, but no mention yet (that I can remember) of using a cc, which at first glance would seem to have UEGIA problems.
