Very disappointed about these news, (just got home and found the same e-mail). I found Titan to be reliable, with some real good games for canada. It is specially surprising considering they really made the effort to have a number of GOOD promotions directed TO the Canadian market.
Somehow they must have a reason - as this surely is losing a fair amount of players for the.

Same as it was posted above, I am not aware of any change in regulations - tried to ask support - not that I expect to get an answer... just giving it a try.

I was able to log-in no problem and have requested a full cash-out. :(

I think mostly geared towards the micro/recreational player which is good with me as requirements to gain entry were minimal. Not that many Cdn. players even seemed to take advantage of them though (there's not that many entrants in that Monthly Can. Freeroll).

Add in all of the US players who are now living in Canada and who are also playing on there.

Not sure why you'd think there'd be a problem logging in... the annoucement stated we'll be able to play until Sun. Dec. 22nd.

I'm going to leave some on there as I'm still going to be making sure I get my 250pts. for the Canadian freeroll, & the LATM $2k freeroll. And hoping I'll be able to play the $500 Birthday Bash in December. (planned on playing some of the iPOPS events on williamhill instead of Titan so nothing changes there for me although I was going to try to satty into the MainEvent on Titan... but not anymore). I've also got an entry to the $10k Bonanza. I'll miss all those bonus freerolls on Titan... even if they give you way too many chips to start with & that they take just wayyy too long to play them (obviously a good move by the site as most players don't login to play on one table).

I actually just deposited on there yesterday & am pretty sure I can't withdrawal yet if I want to be eligible for the LATM Depositor freeroll (which is worth playing if you're online at the time).

{I just noticed the LATM Points freeroll is actually on Sun. Dec. 22nd at 6pm ET (23:00 site time) ... so if you win it I wonder if it's possible to get your dollars off there? ... hmm.. might have to skip that one}

meh.. I just checked to see when the 'BirthdayBash' freeroll is... November birthdays Freeroll is Dec.1st so it looks like I won't be around for the Dec. one :(

Some people were not able to log-in. My guess is that at some particular time there was a technical problem. I have intentionally said I was able to log - in in case some may not be aware that it is all good. :)

Also wish you good luck in the games you plan to play - same as I wish for you always :)

Cheers

I just noticed there isn't another one of those Canadian Freerolls in the lobby so it looks like I'll just be picking up my 50 pts. on the Euro Cash tables for that 2,000 euro freeroll on Dec. 6th & will likely make my withdrawal just after the LATM Depositor's Freeroll (which is on Dec. 1st). No sense leaving anything on there after that.... as I'll be playing on some of the other ipoker sites anyways.

Will still miss Titan though :(

Just got an email:

Important Announcement to Canadian Players

As part of our commitment to adhere to local government regulations, Titan Poker has decided to cease its activity in Canada.

You will be able to log into your account and play our games until Sunday, December 22nd. If you desire to make a withdrawal, please do so within this time period. Our 24/7 Support Team will remain available for any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

TITAN POKER

Government regulations from Canada or from where Titan Poker is located?

And what "local government regulations" are we talking about exactly?

The LATAM freerolls appear to be closed to Canadians. Tourney lobby says open to Latin America and portugal.

As for my withrawal, I got the usual "Please wait 24 to 48 hours for processing" email which was followed by this puzzling email...

"Dear Randall,

Thank you for choosing Titan.

Please note that before funds can be credited to your account, we must first verify receipt of such funds. Consequently, there is a verification period of between six to fourteen business days. The length of this period varies slightly depending on your deposit method.

When we verify that your funds have arrived, we will continue processing your withdrawal. This current withdrawal request does not apply to any future deposits.

Once your withdrawal has been completely processed, you will be notified by email.

Sincerely,

Titan Finance Team"

They need all that time to verify if they have my money? What funds have to arrive? It's a withdrawal of my money at their site. Yikes

Titan typically only takes 24-48hrs. for me (via skrill).

So I put in for a withdrawal & just received an email back from them....

We have received your withdrawal request for the total amount of XXXX CAD, together with your preferred payment method of Skrill
Please be advised that withdrawal requests are processed 24 to 48 hours following the request date, as per our Withdrawal Policy. Your withdrawal request will be displayed in the Cashier in the "Pending Withdrawals" section until the day it is processed.

Please note that we will attempt to process your withdrawal through the payment method you requested. However, this is not a guarantee. At the discretion of the Titan, your withdrawal maybe processed through another payment method, as deemed necessary. In addition, the currency may also differ from that of your Titan account due to regional differences of the banks we deal with.

Please note that we reserve the right to refund money by way of any payment method through which you have deposited, up to the total amount you deposited, in accordance with international banking regulations.

Sincerely,

Titan Finance Team

I wonder what method they're referring to? I've only ever deposited on there with a mastercard GiftCard & Skrill

According to what I gathered from the net, existing players without a balance will no longer be able to play.

That is why I left $25 there in order to be able to play my remaining freerolls including VIP.

But if they exclude us already from the freerolls then it's not fair. We earned the right to play those freerolls.

I got the same email when I withdrew in September, so it's just the standard automated reply when anyone withdraws.

I also withdrew from Poker 770 and got same message

The politics these days are criminal! the problem is the people who should be in politics are the one's who don't want to be in it! I wonder if Canada will make more sites illegal it seems likely this will happen if such a major site like Titan all of a sudden bans Canadians

The way the Conservatives are here, I wouldn't be surprised to see online poker leave the Canadian market alltogether.

Although gambling is a provincial responsibility, banking is a federal one, and that was the biggest problem in the American market after the UIGEA passed.

I received my Withdrawal in full today at 10:30pmET.
(I left $1 in my account so I can 'maybe' play the freerolls I've qualified for... if Canadians are still invited (noticed the Canucks R Us game was gone from the lobby already) )

Why do you always jump the gun and make idiotic statements? Did you even read the link? Neither Canada or its politicians made any poker site illegal including Titan or playTech. But it does look like Playtech does not have their legal paperwork in order and are proctecting their asses.

I don't care im not gonna go to canada nor do I want to when I got norway and sweden to choose from, maybe it's good they make it illegal since most players lose money playing poker therefore making it bad for the vast majority, just a thought, are you a doctor btw? congrats on your diagnosis of me being an idiot over the internet

pretty sure my dog had this figured out... long ago

fwiw, Canada currently is the #1 ranked country for online MTT results.

Thanks for looking out for us though... now we won't have to lose as much money anymore. Phew!!!

european players are better, and europe is better in every category compared to canada, canada is basicaly what happens when you get a large piece of land and try to imitate the usa and europe at the same time and failing in both! oh and being #1 in pocket 5's in mtt's means squadoosh esp. since that does not track all players, and I would assume losing players would not sign up there

I just got an email from Ladbrokes this morning saying they will move to iPoker on December 21 2013.

I don't think this is a coincidence that we have until December 22 2013 to withdraw our money from Titan.

Playtech, who owns Titan, also hold a 3% share of Ladbrokes according to articles on the net.

Now why Titan wants to move Canadians to Ladbrokes, beats me...

Must be some kind of "law" I don't know about.

I just hope Ladbrokes will have good promotions for Canadians like Titan had.
