I think in the next 5 years more places in the USA will allow online poker if nothing else just for the taxable money.

Obviously it would be nice if we could of the luxury of playing real money poker legally in the comfort of our own home but I think it will take many years before this is possible. The main reason is due to states having their own sets of rules. Sometimes it takes forever to get things passed to make things legal and often times things get tied up in court. I think decisions are often made under the table and you really have no idea exactly what is going on at times!

Like that's going to happen any time soon. It's called freedom of choice and the Socialist Yanks no longer believe in that principal.

It's not federal law that makes poker illegal so US players
will have to take the hard road and convinve the states individually...

But I think that a lot more states are considering it again than a few years ago and the multi state player pools might finally lead to a situation in which all US players can compete against each other and the rest of the world again freely on more sites than just ACR...

Yes

Wouldn't that be great. I would love to go back to playing on pokerstars. Although I have gotten used to ACR, it's only because my options are so limited in Ohio.

Wow coming from Ireland were drugs like weed are illegal and guns hard to buy but poker legal Find it crazy in America that people have easy access to drugs and guns but they can not play poker online with pokerstars ect freely strange world we live in hope things change for the better but you just never know

Hah, this made me laugh... not because it's funny, but that's just my natural reaction when I get sad... This is too true. Don't get me wrong, I am a strong believer in the right to bear arms, I wouldn't change that. But I'm also a strong believer in the right to gamble my own money away if I want to. That should be changed

Why can’t a deal be made between the American government and the poker sites to make it legal everywhere!!!

It's not as simple as that. I would explain more but instead I'm going to suggest you watch this to see how the government is supposed to work:

In order to legalize poker with the United States, you should evict me from Russia, change the sex in Thailand, buy a live kangaroo bag and go to Iceland.:rofl::rofl:

I don't think that is it. Other countries have figured out how to make it work for them. Who needs taxes when you can make a lot more money through rake?

Money. The casino owners are paying big bucks to keep it illegal.
This makes the most sense to me. That is how the US government works after all (when it works).

taxes

Everything is about Taxes as far as the government is concerned. If you include the RINO's, deep state actors and Democrats you have to Add greasing the wheels (PAY OFF). Kinds like this communist push by the treasonous No border Wall, Open borders, illegal voters and criminal state officials. Multi-millionaire congresspersons that preside over shit hole places due too their lack of action but grow millions while on a government salary.

What was up with the "Trumpistan" post. Online poker has existed for 2 decades in the U.S. with both republicans and democrats as presidents. I am American and don't identify by either party, but what does Trump have to do with online poker? As the government finds more ways to monitize new revenue(taxes) more things become legal. 20 yrs ago we didn't think marijuana would be legal. Legality is limited, but things have changed gradually.

Why not allow USA the same consideration as so many other countries? I am Canadian and wish the best for my southern neighbors.

Federal government doesn’t care, not big money to them. That’s why we see it being legalized on a state-by-state level.

Give up on the hope for a national agreement. The local governments are going to keep a tight grip on this monster.

I agree

I know a lot of states are starting to allow players to play in the coming future. I am not sure when though. It would be nice to have a larger selection of poker rooms to play at online.
