I agree. Its time that we should have the right to play poker. They take our taxes, screw up the economy, bomb other countries, do whatever they want to us.
The government is way to involved in our personal business. what about us, we the people an our rights?

it might take time

it might take time to make poker legal throughout the U.S. right now they are working on changing laws for Ohio and Indiana to make it legal to play poker. which is already legal to play in Ohio i used to play on Club WPT.

I don't know why the government and so much countries have against poker or online gambling.

There was this crack down on illegal poker clubs in norway. I mean why don't the police and government not focus on real f crime and leave stupid stuff like gambling and poker alone, i makes me so freak en mad. I know there are people that cheat and black Friday there were those people that screwed everyone over but that is so long ago and why punish the online gamblers and poker players.

There is a lot of money the country is loosing so that to me is like stupid and i don't understand it. It's just not USA but other counties too.

Last thing how can they ban online gambling/poker but you can play live. It's like you can buy drugs in a shop or something but oh no not online. LOLLL i wish they can explain it to us.
Hope they realize that is just gambling or poker and not murder. Yes it could be like a drug but it's hurts more people than there are addicts so it's only an stupid excuse. I am sorry for the addicts but why should we get punished.

Only my opinion...

I really wish they could come up with a federal solution, you could even have the Nevada Gaming Commission oversee it. You dont need to have 50 commissions and 50 states fighting over taxes, just do it all at the federal level.

We got the same problems in Lithuania as well. The government should first of all understand that gambling addicts will always find a way to loose money somewhere.

If BCP is allowed, then individual states can play online poker! I heard about the ban, but I never went into it! I think watching this post will be able to understand what's the matter there!

Just keep playing on the sites that are available to you but I wouldn't count on the government ever doing anything positive for the poker community. There slow as it is with getting things done and I rather play on the sites that are currently offered than to change things up.

Congress is currently working on all that. Still, I think its dumb that only select states do and don't have online poker.

some day will happen, be patient, I imagine that the gaming sites would have to comply with some new security requirements of the US law

Re

Funny how pot becomes legal while poker doesn't. It's beyond me.

Ya that floors me as well .I don't understand it and won't understand it . however if it does become legal .again I think you'll see the biggest poker boom ever making the last one look like nothing. Who knows maybe that's the plan

I would like online poker to be legal in the US again, for many like me, that are recreational players and enjoy that stimulus to the brain that the game gives me, to be only left with sites that have few serious players, that have people who think all in is the only way to play two cards has taken the enjoyment and stimulus I used to get out of the game. When I was able to play on PS, I found that even playing $5 SNG's all day that I played with people that took the game seriously, played hands creatively, but it was not an all in fest every hand. I am not ssure if the game will ever get back to what it once was for me, but i surely do miss it.

I think that poker has to be made legitimate around the world, since it's a half-intellectual game, I think that poker should exist everywhere, and access to this wonderful game should get to all the inhabitants of the planet who are interested in this game.

I live in Florida with many casinos and all the people who benefit from them, why doesn’t everyone one want casinos? It’s illogical to me

the only people who fought to keep it illegal was the casino operators themselves they wanted all the money to stay right here in USA and making it so people would actually have to gamble live in person. btw it's 2 easy to commit fraud online many many people are getting away with the online fraud.. also easier to just gamble away everything and lose what you have!

I think more states will, just like more states allow marijuana

Yes, yes! If the US would just get their heads out of their asses in regards to both issues they would collect millions and millions in tax revenue. They won't legalize both fully until they have everything set in place so they get maxium +EV. It will happen in due time.

I would hope it would be legal its nice to sit in the comfort of your home and enjoy a game of poker. If you thinks its rigged or they cheat don't play its that simple. I would rather do that than watch tv every night

Do you mistakenly think that the USA is some sort of land of the free. You now live in Trumpistan.

:top:

My friend, you are aware that online poker was banned afore what's his name even ran for office? To answer the original posters question, it/s complicated, if it's really important to you though, consider moving to Australia with Zorba where freedom still exists & gamble to your hearts content. :D:)

Perfect

It is logical that they should make a statement the rest of the states that make up the nation to be authorized and allowed throughout the national territory poker as a sport, the detail is that there to try that poker is considered a sport and not a game of avoidance and chance, which is what generates the problematic:jd4:

Why can’t a deal be made between the American government and the poker sites to make it legal everywhere!!!

I believe in my heart we will get there. I'm happy to play on the sites that we do have access to. :elefant:
