Ben Affleck Busted ...

Before filming the new Batman movie, Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Garner headed to Las Vegas for the weekend. According to numerous reports, the married couple went to Hard Rock Casino on April 29 trying their luck at the blackjack tables.

Besides being a decent poker player, Mr. Affleck apparently is pretty good at counting cards in blackjack. The fact is he won $800,000 in one single session of the game at Hard Rock Casino back in 2001. That time witnesses saw him, at the age of 29, give $150k away to dealers and waitresses in the high-roller lounge.

So, how did his blackjack session go this time at Hard Rock Casino? Well, as the title suggests, he did very well as he reportedly was asked to leave the table by security staff, who then got him and Jennifer a car back to their hotel. There have been a few rumors that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were banned from the casino, but those rumors are completly false.

"Ben got banned from playing blackjack, not the casino," an insider revealed to HollywoodLife magazine. "They allowed him to play other games if he wanted. The security said we have to stop you because ‘you are to good.'"

Additionally, the Hard Rock Casino released a statement saying that he's invited back at anytime.

i think it's ridiculous that any casino can refuse a player to gamble for counting cards. as long as a player is not using any instruments other then their brain, it should be fair game.

You are right it is a Little bit confusing. But the real Problem is that they should wait more than a few years till make a Remake. But I know that comic-film or films based on Comics are nowadays sure way to sell a film and to make good Money.

This is just amazing. A person with money counting cards to get an unfair advantage. Makes me think that Ivey and Affleck are more broke than they show and are hard up for money. Just is mind boggling to me that they could need money in such a way, they have to cheat.

Why would using our brain and observation power be cheating? Seems to me that that is like a boxer who knows he has a devastating left nt using that punch.

As far as I know it isn't cheating, but it is frowned upon by the casinos.

eg if a poker player is better than another is that cheating, imo it isn't.

Would agree. My IQ is higher than yours so am cheating when playing against you. Is frowned upon by casinos because it evens the odds or in some instances gives player the advantage vs. the house.

There was a casino back in the old days I believe it was when Atlanta started allowing gambling that they welcomed everyone including edge players "Card counters" and after like a month of it they had to start barring those players because they take that much money away from the house that they actually threaten the casino

This is why Casinos don't allow it.

It's easy to say they are willing to take our money but won't give us the chance back, yeah it's dumb but if they didn't do this we may not have a casino to go to.

It is funny when one is winning it seems always to be a scam. I once was accussed of counting even though back than I did not even know the system. After being more times accussed naturally I investigated this counting system. Ha I thought this is easy. Hi cards -1 low cards +1 face and 10 0 Never tried it I was using a system though. When I lost 2 or 3 hands in a row I would 2x´s or 4 x´s my next bet and evenutally win my loss back it´s also a math thing

No matter how smart you have to be to keep track of the count, the really smart players make moderate increases in their bet sizes. I have been a winning blackjack player since I was 18 yrs old and hadn't ever thought of poker as something that would interest me. I have never counted but my 1st time I ever played blackjack I met a retired math teacher who was a card counter and I played blackjack with him once a week at an Indian casino in northern Michigan for about 6 years. He varied his bets between 5 and 25 and quietly won a nice chunk of change consistently. Back then my bankroll was very limited as I was in college but I did manage to turn 700 into 7000 over one summer. A guy like Affleck isn't interested in grinding obv. but blackjack can be beaten without counting, if you have the skill to count I have never understood why you don't have the discipline to stay under the radar.

Counting cards is neither cheating, nor is it illegal. It gives the counter a greater than 50% edge on a ge the casino wants you to have a max 48% edge. Therefore, if you are even Suspected of counting cards, than you will no longer be allowed to play there tables, as they feel they no longer have the greater advantage

Counting cards is NOT against the law, a casino can stop your play and ban you but you cannot be prosicuted and it is not cheating. The fact that the casino can stop someone from playing cards because they are smart enough to beat the odds as long as he is not using any cheating device is just sick and all together wrong!!!
