888Poker announces biggest product overhaul in years



"The site is going to introduce a new poker client, Poker 8, https://pokerfuse.com/news/poker-room-news/210087-new-online-poker-platform-888-announced/ first reported. It will be launched on a phased rollout and will reportedly change the company completely.

In its H1 2018 report, 888 described Poker 8 as “a new and improved cross-territory poker platform,” stating, “We have worked with and taken feedback from our players and the new platform will improve the display of the tables, functionality in the lobby and enhance graphics to provide an even more engaging and modern poker experience.”


I hope that the "chat/info/stat" sidebar will be removed.
What is your thought about it?

This sounds great. I really think this room needs a fresh look. The lobby is sometimes hard to navigate and the fonts are just so small on my laptop.

I also very much dislike this sidebar for info/chat. Everytime I click on it is completely messes up my HUD. I find it very cumbersome for what should be a small chat interface.

Are they going to open up to US players?

If only they could process withdrawals faster, I'd play there... hate having my $ locked for a week

It sounds good all that innovation that the site of 888poker intends to make ... I hope it improves the graphic part that is more modern ... and that also offers good promotions for us players ..!

888 it's time to upgrade your poker client. The current software is terrible, it remained in the 90s

Agree, the chat/info/stat sidebar is the most inefficient part of the skin.

Let's see what happens . Hope that have them all done correctly . After the DDoS attack really do not want to have another poker client hanging !

Hopefully this includes a new RNG, these 4 same suit boards are hardly to believe true

I am just after cursing the whole tournament lobby for the past few days. Found out that the Level exclusive free rolls are under the "Poker Club" tab... haha!!

It could certainly use an update. I love their bonuses and free rolls though. Easily my favorite platform already!

I played like in 888 poker, I didn’t like the room itself and didn’t like the layout of the cards, so it pisses me off. Today I recognize: pokerdom, pokerstars, party poker.
In my personal opinion, there is improved graphics and there is also the possibility of a good selection of offline tournaments.

DOES THIS MEAN I WON'T BE ABLE TO THROW SHIT?!?!?!?

I hope this means a more efficient use of space. The sidebar is too big. The whole "Euro widescreen" effect is just annoying. It covers tables on other sites which creates a situation where active tables don't pop up. I can't imagine multi-tabling 888 games. Each one would fill the screen. And less lags and crashes would be nice, but are sort of the opposite effect of "rolling out new stuff".

Im actually fine with the client!!!

I'd love if they tightened their withdrawal process to compete with pokerstars!

888 takes too long

That's great news if these changes will be actual improvements, so that the 888's client will look more like Pokerstars or Partypoker. Opposite to MPN who also has launched a new client, but it turned out to be worse than previous one, imo.

Plz get rid of the throwing tomatoes and stuff,,,it's sooo juvenile and childish. It's great they're branching out into the U.S.

I would like them to change the withdrawal policy and add more payment systems.

I think it might be random but every link I click is nothing to do with what your saying or mentioning but takes me to random threads on hands being played / HHs

Maybe an increase in the number of tables in the cash games?
Allowed to open a maximum of 6 tables.

Are you on a mobile device or a computer? There could be a bug that needs to be worked out.

I will be looking forward to seeing what changes that will come to 888Poker. I started playing there about a month ago, and I must say that I still prefer PokerStars. Maybe the changes they are planning to implement will change my opinion.

They need to start with an overhaul of the iPhone app its very weak compared too Poker stars and Partypoker.

I like what they said and cant wait to see what they planed (beside new look maybe some great new promotions).But i can tell you one thing 888 poker is the best place to playing without some bankroll.

I hope it is not at bad as the new Microgaming client.

It's high time 888 updated their client. Considering how outdated it looked it's no surprise that instead of updating existing client they made a new one from scratch. Hoping it'll be tested sufficiently so that poker players won't have to be testers free of charge.

I miss the webcam games they used to have.

My initial response should have been "I am afraid the update will screw up a CC FR for me" because it's been about ten minutes of nothingness. Trying to open 888 again gets me a message that it's updating.

Edit: That last 1% is a bitch. Shades of ACR "configuring"

That's one of the most positive things i have heared from 888. Looking forward to try the new client out!

I'm not a fan of their current software, so hopefully a positive move for 888Poker. I wish them all the best and hope it will be a success for them.

I get the following message when I try and log-in. "The client is currently being upgraded and will open once the process has finished".

Hope it all gets sorted out soon.

Instead of renewing the software, they should renew the support team. They never solved a problem and when I explain the situation they are like robots, they repeat the same thing

Its good to hear they plan to upgrade their system and client,even tho I like the skin
and the lobby I found it easy to navigate actually compared the PP lets say or GGPoker.
I hope they keep the ability to trow stuff like tomatoes at people ,it would be more handy if you could edit the pre / post flop sizings .
And they they could look into the mobile version to , not being able to play more then one table at a time it sucks , I actually play a lot on mobile and would love at least 2 tables.
I hope, we don’t need to expect too many bugs at the first time, because it is often like this. I didn’t know, that they had such significant losses, I just hope they will stick around more then my last favorite poker room ( PKR) did cause I would be sad

First I expect more bugs that you have ever seen in your life with the new skin.

Second, yeah the revenues in the poker section are falling but the casino and betting sections are the cash cows. Poker is just there to lure you into the casino and sport betting sections.

I saw something in the 888Rep thread about this. I think you have to run it as admin and use compatibility mode or something.

Did you find out why they blocked you?

It is a good notion for users of the platform, one of the best ways to attract new players, is to give the tables what their players want, quality graphics and easy to use interfaces.

Not sure what you mean about the sizing problem?
Prior to 888poker limiting the number of cash tables you could play, I used to regularly multi-table 12-tables per 24in. monitor.

I do love to throw a bit of poop around though... hope they keep that.
