No reason to worry if you can't get money in you can't get money out.I just tried just to try though it worked for me in Alabama.

afraid this may be the case first time I have ever had to withdraw via check. Tried twice for wire transfer but bank rejected both times.

Try a prepaid Credit card available at wallmart. Works Well.

I see that you're in BC, canada. Fortunately for you, this is a US issue. I haven't heard of any echecks problems outside of the States.

Though echecks are still working in OH, I've never been able to use any kind of prepaid card here.

I've been having the same problem as everyone else. Does anyone know if this is permanent problem? Are there any other poker programs that will accept echecks? This totally sucks

I've been advised by poker stars that anyone who has a negative balance should contact dad@pokerstars.com to help you sort it out. They can also help you with other deposit options.

Western Union is no good!!!!! First of all they charge way to much for their service and second it comes up that it is for illegal gambiling and they will reject the transaction and flag you from further use..........................

FWIW, I just used eChecks on Stars to deposit a small amount of money. I'm in California. We'll see how things go on my bank's end.

It's not that they are no longer accepting eChecks period, it is that they can longer process eChecks transactions for some states. Residents of other states can still use it; it's just a atter of knowing which ones. I contacted Poker Stars support to see if they could provide a list of states which are affected by this, but due to legal reasons they cannot provide a list.

I live in California, and decided to try a small deposit to see if it would go through. It was approved, and I was/am able to use the funds immediately. I will post when the deposit clears my bank.

So it's really just trial and error at this point to see which states eChecks is still available in, and which states it is not. It would be helpful if people continue to post what state they're in, and whether or not they've been able to use eChecks.

Just curious, do you have proof that Western Union is no good for deposting? i realize it is not anyones first choice due to the cost, but since you said it comes up that is for illegal gambling(which it is not illegal in the U.S. where I am, not sure where you are), and that they would flag you from further use, I thought I would see what you can provide to show this. Ty.

I'm also wondering how littlela deposited $7000 within thirty days, when that is well above the 30-day deposit limit (as mentioned in this thread):

littlela said:
Whats the story with echeck 3 weeks ago pokerstars took $3000 from my account and another $4000 on top of that with made my account negitive. They claimes that over 6 weeks the echecks never cleared my bank. They said it wasnt my fault and i had to wire or send a bank check to them to make my account good.So i did now 2 days ago the same excat thing happened again...Is anyone else going through the same thing????????????????
Unless deposit limits are different depending on the player? I really don't know.

Yea juice i had a problem a while back with western union when i was making large transactions and they found out where it was going.........also it depends on each player for deposit limits....they will raise it on a player by player basis................i am in new york and i heard that the echeck thing was all over the u.s. but since you were able to do it i guess thats not the case...............

That makes sense regarding Western Union, since if I remember correctly (when I had to send funds to someone years back), it did say something about not using funds for gambling purposes. I would have to take another look at their T&C though. I've heard of members using MoneyBookers on other sites, but (for me at least), it is not an option at Poker Stars.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention but this is old news, I haven't been able to use eChecks from Ohio or Florida in almost 6 months...I've just been using western union and honestly paying 15+ dollars for a couple hundred dollar deposit is ridiculous so I really haven't played much since I busted my bankroll a couple months back...online poker is truly suffering because of this. **** our government.

Interesting and strange. I don't know about Florida but, as I have said, I am in Ohio and eChecks works just fine for me. Other people from Ohio have said the same thing. Just to be sure, like JQ in California, last week I made a small test deposit and it went right through.

Would you mind sharing a few more details? We're trying to compile a list of which states eChecks still works in and I haven't heard of people in the same state having different results until this.

I dont understand that one person says ohio echecks work and the other says that they dont???????????????????????????
I am from New
York and its been 2 weeks since they stopped working....my brother is in Florida and his stopped around the same time that New York did...Funny thing my friend who plays on full tilt says that the echeck system there(which is called something else not echeck) hasnt taken any money from his account in 2 months but they keep crediting him on tilt...Strange????????????

it depends on where your checks come from...I use a small credit union close to my house, which almost always works, but if your using from national banks, it seems like those are not working as well anymore

I noticed that too. Isn't it odd? As a US player, I have found that I have virtually no options to make a deposit. Figured I could use Western Union, but one post in this thread says they will recognize that the transaction is for poker and reject it, which would leave me with zero options to make a deposit. So wherever else that Echecks has been halted, all those players are in the same boat. So I don't understand why the number of players online at PS remains high, since it is US players that comprise the largest share. The numbers have to drop as US players run out of money, and soon, as most players play small stakes, or else the number of players online reported by PS is bogus.
