Bovada will indeed tell you 10 business days but its never taken me more than 7-8 days to get a check. They are very good on paying, I've won other items from them before; just recently an ipad mini and even it arrived way sooner than they told me. I live in the eastern mid-west. Overall I rate them as excellent on the topic of pay outs.

Got a check from Bovada from a Canadian bank. Odd thing was the check was mailed from upstate NY. Weird for them to draft the check in canada and drive it across the border to mail it.

Thanks for all the help! Bovada seems like the most legitimate site other than the QQ vs KK, KK vs AA, on their $1,000 tourneys with $5-$10 buy ins! haha!

Carbon takes me about 1 week to get, never got anything from Bodog/Bovada so I can't tell you...As for lock I've never deposited there but people have had issues with it so I've never really wanted to deposit on that site (Other than for the CC 500 weekly free roll)
Carbon 1 week? Yeah I don't know about that, I withdrawal plenty of time from carbon and its never ever 1 week. Plus its unheard of.

Bovada! Will the check clear!

Hello!
I cash out for $500 and I am waiting for the check to arrive. I am worry when I send in the check for deposit and since it is a international check how would my credit union react. How did you guys handle it if your banks ask what the check is for?.I live in Texas and hoping to get some advice on this...

Thanks

Your bank should not be asking what the check is for.

I've wondered about that myself, what kind of check you get. You would think a regular cashiers check would be the best way to get a cash out. And your bank shouldn't be asking you that, so i wouldn't worry about that.

I was thinking why Bovada just load up pre-paid credit cards and sent them instead of a check....I would think that would be easier to do then a international checks..Just a thought!

It's not an issue for support. He's just wondering what will happen when he goes to deposit the check at his bank.

Nothing to worry about, really. If the band doesn't honor the check, then contact Bovada support. But I really don't think there will be an issue. Let us know how it works out, though.

I'm from Texas, and have got checks from Carbon that were drawn on a third party in Canada. No probs, I just leave enough money in the bank to cover the check. Why you ask ? A couple of years ago I had two checks from Carbon bounce. They made them good, but have had no probs since then. The bank shouldn't ask, if they do, you should move your accounts to another bank. It's none of their business.

Looks like the check will not clear!

Ok..
I recevied my first cash out from Brovada and do not know why but even after I was reading many post in how they were able to cash the check at their local banks I had some doubts. I sent in the check which is from Hong Kong along with another small check in the same envelope for the deposit to my credit union.
I just check my account and my credit union has deposited the small check but has not even put a hold on the bovada check. There is no mention of it and I am thinking they will be sending it back to me. Not sure since they just recevied it but my credit union has always handle my tranactions in a very timley manner.
Except for this one of course. Not sure what will I do if I get the check back. Also to top it off the Netspend visa card that I had used the last 2 years has been blocked since last week when I tried to make a deposit to my Bovada account. I call them and ask them what;s the deal and they statted to ask me about the tranasactions the last few months from Bovada. I told them it was for a horse racing account in that I know betting on horse racing is still legal. Well they told me that they knew this site was a online gaming site and no longer tranactions will be authorized! I just then told them to closed the account since it was not worth the hassle!
Ok now it looks like I will not be able to cash my check and now also not able to be able played online poker..at least at Bovada! What a freaking day!

Those cards say very clearly not to be used for gambling purposes. You should never have told them that. Let us know what happens with the check from Bovada. We do have a Bovada rep here, so if the check is sent back to you, we can get you in contact with them to see what you should do next.

JuiceeQ!
The reason I mention horse racing is that I use the card also at Twinspires and Derby Wars which are both horse racing sites with no issues! The difference in that they are located in the Untied States and Bovada charges are international which cause a red flag. The banks are allowed to complete transactions legally for horse racing sites. When the Netspend rep was looking at my previous charges for Bovada they noticed the charges were never the same company so brought out the block this month. I could not explain the different companies on my statement. I just got frustrated with this and closed the account. Ohh well I guess I just stay with the ponies here....Of course I will miss playing poker.. Being playing poker off and on for over 8 years.

Within the last month, I have withdrawn from Bovada, and , deposited in my Credit Union. The funds were available the next day. The check was from China, and clearly stated on it for deposit only.

I think you are worried about a non- issue.

I sure hope you are right. I was planning to use this money to buy some heavy duty fishing equipment! I am curious in what bank do you use?..I wonder since my bank is a credit union might make a difference! I am also curious if I am not able to get the check cash what other options there are besides putting it back into the bovada account!
