What do you prefer - when you play poker: Music or silence ?

Same here, no music. Strangely, when music is on, even in the background, I can't seem to focus in order to analyze the play and make a good decision during the 30 seconds given. Can't do it. No bueno. I used to play songs to fill the air while playing, but I had to stop/pause it when I was in a hand, which itself distracted my thought process, so I quit having music altogether.

I haven't listened music while playing in years but I think I have done it before sometimes in the past. I might try it again sometime in the future so this was actually a good question because it made me think about it and maybe it will improve my game or maybe it will do nothing for it but it might still make it a more pleasant experience

Silence mostly, especially when deeper in a big field mtt. In some early stages or when mass multi tabling I will watch a series on another screen or listen to some tunes. But when the end game comes I mostly play in silence

I say that because it doesn't matter about my surroundings. I multitask because one thing will not satisfy My minds urge to do more, so playing poker and doing one or two other things at the same time, is how I play my best poker. Win or lose always have a good time good luck everyone and as always have fun

It depends on my mood and on the game. If the game is responsible, I prefer to play in silence, so that nothing distracts.

Music is fine but mostly play silent.
What I can't do is listen to a podcast while I'm playing because I get distracted too often when I'm in a hand and basically shut out what is being said on the podcast and lose continuity of the discussion.

My best results was when I watched TV series or movies and play only good hands , that way I don't get bored and enter pots when I can win it

How can you spend 5 hours of a tournament in silence? I tried it, it didn't take root. more to your liking classical or calm music. Not too distracting.

It depends on what I play, usually when I play cash game then I can play some music.
When I play the tournament in early stages of the tournament when high concentration is needed then I prefer silence but in the late stage I can watch something on the TV. So it depends.
