Well ill say this much we are already starting to see some freerolls disable chat for all. thats what this leads to in as far as crying thats hogwash its about keeping the integrity of this great poker online community. and im not talking about disagreements or talking smack or even just kidding around its the vulgar language.etc. sometimes my 8yr old daughter liker to watch the game it just gives poker players a bad rep. when 95% are good people hopefully the word on here can make a little change.

What the hell? You have your cards, you have your stack, you have your readings and you have the chatbox. All tools for online poker. you got upset? Tilted? Your opponent did well!!!
The only way to be disrespectful for me is, when somebody doesn't fold to my high bluff bet :):damnmate:

If it's online and they're being rude or spamming, a simple block of their chat and a report to a site moderator is all you need!

Well you're right about the focus indeed. The game is most important overall. But still before i put that person in ignore or close chat it's still not bad to take a screenshot to send it after the session to support. Just to give a lesson to that person, who is bothering everyone. So that maybe he will be forced to stop that activity. It doesn't take too much efforts or time really. But makes the poker world a little bit better.
When I was a child the word used for what you are suggesting was labeled "Tattle-Tayler" or if you prefer simply a "Snitch".

Unless an individual is using extreme profanity on an on-going basis, why not just let the donk air out his frustrations.

If everyone put that individual on chat block, then he would be bitching to himself, like an insane person walking around in circles trying to get to the end of his journey but never realizing he is only getting as far as his starting point.

I think it's funny anyone would get upset on a poker chat. Why do you care what some loser writes in a chat box - nothing in poker online is personal unless you choose to make it so.

You guys have some good answers about blocking the chat or just mute it, but what about when you are having a cardschat tournament and want to chat with some of the guys you know and then someone starts to piss you off by being insulting or a stuff like that, I think this community was created to get friends not to get people talking to you like they want without respect, at least that is what I think. Respect ;)

Some people think it gets under your skin, you'll mess up and they'll win a hand. My advice is ignore, ignore, ignore. I've been called every name in the book, I just laugh at them.

I hope there is a way that the sites can find a way to ban them for awhile away from the site that they are on. It would help to stop the bullying on some of the sites.

i just like taking there money

I have learned over time to just ignore them dont let it throw you on tilt. Try to wait for that special hand that you can take them all in and get all there chips. Usually theyll have something to say but after a while theyll leave the table because there busted....mostly. There are those occasions where a good poker player is just an ass. its part of the game

I would never call anybody on CC anything, until I mean it! I once did it and mentioned the country of the donk, and I was advised immediately by an admin, that we don't accept things like racism, although it was never meant that way, rather in a friendly way. So someone pisses you off in a CC freeroll (not the thursday one) you got another tool :icon_tong

Now you are really exaggerating.. This way we can come to a total nonsense. What about, if you see a gang of housebreakers is cleaning your neighbor's house, don't you call police, because it's a "Snitch"? I studied law, and we didn't call it "a snitch" in a court, maybe criminals would call it like that in a prison, but in a world of law it would be called "criminal inaction", if you see something like that and do nothing. And in a such case you personally becoming a subject to punishment. Of course it's not the same case at poker game, i just jumped in for a second in your world of exaggeration and inappropriate comparison. But i hope you got the idea. Let such words like "Snitch" be a part of children's or yard bird's language. Poker rooms awaiting and welcome any cooperation of players, who see breaking the house rules. No matter if it's team play, bot using or unacceptable bad words/insulting/racism and so on. Such things are simply has nothing to do at poker table, no matter live or online. I mean, just make a test man, sit yourself in some casino and start insulting people around, like some jerks do at online poker and make a stop-watch before, how many minutes past till you will be thrown out of casino by bruiser. In online poker you become much softer punishment for that, they only blocking your chat for a while, still allowing you to play. I would freeze account for such things honestly. I mean at some casinos you will become a house prohibition on entrance.

If everyone put that individual on chat block, then he would be bitching to himself, like an insane person walking around in circles trying to get to the end of his journey but never realizing he is only getting as far as his starting point.

You probably didn't read well my point before. If you act like that and simply ignore that person, with your inactivity against it, you pass him spread his poison further. So that hundreds of other players like you get harmed because of him. Some of more and some of them less mentally stable. Some are will be thrown into Tilt and loose their money. Some are become a really bad feelings and mood because of him. So why do let this scoundrel acting further like that. There is nothing worse in a world, than indifference. If i see anyone behaving himself at the table wrong, i warn him, no matter if he insulting me or someone else. If he won't stop his behavior, i make a screenshot and send it to support with a very light heart and full of conscious, that i just did the right thing.
p.s. I start to worry already, why do you protecting such scumbags? I hope you are not one of them.

I used to chat a lot but any more I'm more interested in how people are playing, taking notes and monitoring the overall tournament progress. Rarely follow the chat window but do occasionally offer up a complement or single snide remark when beat by a moron calling against the odds that hits the river.

Just turn off the chat and concentrate on how you're going to play and not bother with reading the chat.
