It is different to play live than to play online. Poker softwares generate random numbers and there are bad bets, but that does not mean that we are in love with tournaments.

You are right playing live is so different from random numbers generated buy softwares. You can see their emotions.

Never played live. Bur heard that some rooms has a group of players (and friends) plays together many times and new opponents don't know the fact of them, by their bets, raises and other actions could be previous coded by themselves.

Online poker has a serious advantage for recreational players...
It is much cheaper :)

Where I live the lowest legal casino games are 1//2€ blinds...
That’s way above what I should be playing with my bankroll.

I played online poker in a club. Tournaments were organized between 50 and 100 people with a buy in of 50 dollars. The winner could take between 800 and 900 dollars. You could also play satellites to participate in online poker tournaments in casinos with better prizes. I think this is a good way to gain experience and I think it's better than online gaming.

Online games tend to play faster and wilder. People tend to take more chances with lessor odds online. This might be due to the smaller buy ins and not having to take the walk of shame if you bust out.

Casino games are more of a mix; you’ll find recreational players and semi-pro/pros alike. People tend to wait for more opportunities. On the weekends you’ll notice more risky play since you have more players there for fun.

Home games are usually the loosest. People know one another, beer is flowing, and everyone is having a great time.

Play a lot in home version with friends, can say i am very good, but never play in casino.I think there is big diff, but online you learn other lesion how to play with rude players, how to play with someone you don't see,etc etc.
But online and home with friends are oke for now.

Online definitely plays different. Playing online at higher stakes, players are going to have stats and solvers helping them make decisions in real time that they wouldn't have live. At micro stakes where most players won't have a HUD with stats helping them...the play does tend to get wild. I think it's easy for some players to justify playing a riskier strategy because the buyin is low. I personally like playing live more, but you can't play for micro stakes live.

Only thing I like about online more than live is that I can sit at my computer 100% naked and take bong hits during the game if I want to. It's also very convenient as you don't have to go anywhere.
Other than that - I would pick live over online every time.

I do not think online poker is rigged in any way. The players online are different than friends at home, though. This is the factor that makes online different. Also once you are online, you will observe a massive difference between playing freerolls and $5 buy-in games. Basically you will have more fold equity in games where the motivation to win exceeds the motivation to say "whee doggies, let me go all-in."

Some players have reported bots, and occasional collusion situations, but these are rare, and I am not worried about the bots. They are beatable. As for the colluding players, they get caught and banned.

I'll tell you it seems like the number generators aren't all that random. The difference to me is that I can play a lot of games online for little or no money. At the casino your already in the hole for gas money and you need at least $100 to play a tournament. Well they do have one for $60 but I don't think it's worth playing.

People just really hate losing and love to complain about it and blame others.

Yes sometimes there are bad runs and bad rivers....you will see this live also.

You should try them all and see which environment is right for you....there are pros and cons to each.

Good luck !

I love the speed of online poker... You could easily fit 5 hands online opposed to a single hand in a casino... But then again, this leads to experience many scenarios that would rather be very difficuly to occur in real life... For instance I can say that in my online poker life I have gotten 3 royal flushes and have seen several more in my tables by other players, and when I tell people about this they call me a liar lol... The same cannot be said in real life poker, I have never gotten a royal flush but have seen straight flushes irl (aside from tv, youtube, etc, of course)

As for it being rigged...
You know what? it might be rigged, or may have certain patterns... While playing in certain poker site for over 5 years, I started noticing certain pattern when cards were dealt... As in I could sometimes predict what the river card would be based on the flop and turn. But then again it was like 1 in a 1,000 type of thing.
