thanks to frerroll CC you can set up a banckroll for free without having to make a deposit. you can then use those winnings and play cash games or MTT to build a big bankroll.

Varied a bit from site to site for me.

My noob site was PKR- they had 10c freeroll SNGs running around the clock, which you could enter when you had less than $1 in your account. Bounced up and down off $1 for a while playing either 10c or 25c SNGs (can't remember which) until I spiked a couple and had something to work with.

At 888, they used to give a $8 no-deposit sign-up bonus. That worked for me, as PKR had taught me the basics- shortstacked NL2 for a bit until I got up to about $40, then played full stack NL2, and worked up from there. Have well over 100k hands at NL10 now, without having ever deposited, and still amusingly get emails offering me a free $10 deposit bonus (which is the change in my bankroll in a good/ bad 2 minute spell).

And then I ran it up at Full Tilt (which is now of course on stars) by getting a few dollars together from freerolls and then grinding the challenges in the FTP academy playing NL2, which bought my entries to tournies.

Don't think any of this is possible any more, or at least not as easily- relied on some pretty generous free cash that sites were splurging out before Black Friday. Games have also got a lot tougher (being dealt AA at PKR NL2 had an EV of like +$1 back in 2008).

Hello,
I'm a new player of online poker. The main principle I understood was to build a bankroll. How did you start your own bankroll?

Thanks to the Freeroll once created. Now I have 6 cents in my account and am in the process of creating a new bankroll.

There's also saving money to contribute to that first deposit.

Cut corners anywhere you can. Don't order out as much. Every week put aside some amount, any amount, and say to yourself this is my poker money. Once you have enough saved up, something comfy, that's what you start off with.

Also freerolls!

So I started with freerolls and worked my way up ... that got me the first 10 euros ... then I raised my own money to 40 euros and that's what I'm working with now.

Yours Luki

I started with freerolls, but deposits , if you can afford it, are the best way to have some bankroll. Freerolls ask for lots of time, luck and patience to make some kind of bankroll.

Hello,
I'm a new player of online poker. The main principle I understood was to build a bankroll. How did you start your own bankroll?

I Began playing poker on play money games on Facebook and Pogo for points, I did well and thought to myself "hey! I could do this for real money" How wrong could I be?
Sure the game is the same but the players were certainly different. I had already promised my wife I would not register any cash in an on-line poker site. and to this day I have kept my promise, So I started playing the Free-rolls on pokerstars etc, It has taken me a while but now I have 3 accounts with different sites all with real money in the bank.
You have to play an account as you play any poker game, with Patience!
Sure you could save up and deposit a hundred or a thousand dollars and start playing $10.00 SnGs but believe me that hundred Dollars would not last long.
You need to be patient, Play with money you are not afraid to lose and build a bank-roll slowly.
Good things are always worth waiting for and if you can manage a bankroll so that your last dollar is never in jeopardy, you can do it. The best advice I was given is play for the love of the game and NEVER! buy-in for more than 1% of your total Bankroll.
So even if you can afford to deposit $1,000 dollars your buy-in should never be more than $10.00 unless you want to lose the lot over a single night. Keep it Fun and remember-----

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Nothing better than building your Bankroll through Freerolls (so to speak:rolleyes:) helps you understand and maintain the concept of bank management in my opinion :)

To create a bankroll, you can simply make a deposit and start playing. Make a deposit and keep playing. Deposit again and still play. Unless you are a poker genius who can win a lot of money right away (which already sounds rather strange), then be prepared to lose as you learn.
Another option is to play freerolls, learn the game, and win them by building up your bankroll.
Study the game a lot, find those who can help you understand important aspects and you can achieve results.
Good luck:)

I havent deposited a single buck and all my bankroll has come from freerolls, mostly cardschat. In my opinion, you should play as much freerolls as possible until you feel you are a winning player and if you have the time and willingness since you wont have to worry about setting deposit limits you will always be playing with your winnings. And it is a risk free way since you will know you are a winning player cause you were already able to win enough to play bigger tournaments every time. And study a lot!! I play so different now since when I started I recommend twitch cards seen tournaments or books like winning poker tournaments one hand at the time, analyzing how each player plays with their stack in the various position and thinking what would you do in every spot can help your analyzing skills greatly

Freerolls

I haven’t deposited a single cent on BOL. I just started out with freerolls. Also around Thanksgiving they had a lot of freerolls. Which gave me more opportunities to make a bankroll from nothing. I must say that I am on a roll because my bankroll currently is over $3K. Biggest cash/finish was a 2nd place on a $7500 gtd. MTT. That was over $2300. So I can’t complain so far.

Stay Safe

You have to determine the level of play yourself, in accordance with the quality of your game. If you overestimate yourself, it can be disastrous for you.
I started with freeroll tournaments, like most players, I’m still in them. I’ve found a lot of pretty quality freerolls and I don’t plan to change anything in the foreseeable future.

I am guessing you don’t have any experience playing any poker with real money before. I would suggest you to deposit $100 and only play $2 buyin cash game tables so that you get some experience playing online and get use to the software. Even if you did have experience playing poker at your local casino playing 1/2NLHE you should start $5 buyin games because it is much harder online and you would want to get some experience and getting use to.

Stick to your game and have a stop loss for the day or else you will just be throwing your entire bankroll in the bin.

I made an account on GG Poker, they give you a daily 0.25 USD free ticket for Spin&Gold, built up to 20~ USD and then in order to speed up my building, I deposited 25 USD, claimed a bonus package worth of 40 USD in tickets from which I managed to cash 33 USD.
Started playing 2NL cash games and won around 10 USD, currently sitting at 90~ USD bankroll, hoping to build up to over 100 USD soon and play on 5NL.
