Yes, it's a way for you not to miss the kind of game that player usually plays. Of course, you have to be careful as experienced players change their game form all the time during tournaments.

I use HUD, but HUD can't tell you what the opponent does wrong, so I observe what they do wrong and write that down in notes.

this is what HUD's are for, you pay and let them do the work I only observe on FT's or last 2 tables

Now I almost don't take notes on MTT players anymore (I don't play cash games) simply because I noticed how their behavior changes a lot from level to level and depending on the stack. So, for example, terribly loose players go into a serious tight after tripling, and tight ones get offended by luck and go to the casino:joyman:

I mark players who are dangerous to me and strong, as well as weak.

I play mostly freerolls or <$1 tournaments, so I think all players there are not regulars, so no, I do not mark them, maybe in future when I'll play on higher buy-ins

I used to mark players before but it don't help that much, playing lower stakes almost all players are recreational and sometimes these marks make me to play different because I am adjusting my playstyle to this marked player and most of the time its not a good play.

I put a mark on how aggressive the enemy is. I don't know if it will help me or not

Do you mark your opponents at the table with colors? And what categories do you use?

I do tags on the website that I play on. I have found that my HUD information is FAR more valubale. I finally made the plunge and honestly believe seeing your actual graphs takes all the bullchit out of it. Numbers don't lie. You are either winning or are not.

You have to remember though until you have realistically tens of thousands of hands on a player the data wont mean a whole lot. 500 hands with a player means almost nothing.

So while tags are nice if someone is doing something just absolutely ridiculous I don't think a tag really helps. Just my $0.02

When I played constantly in SnG, I marked regular players, players who play very badly, dangerous players, now I don’t mark anyone because I don’t play much) after reading this thread, I picked up a lot of interesting marks for myself, thanks to the members of the forum)

I mark my opponents , it helps your game. I feel you need to know what type of players they are, it determines how they play. It is a big part in calling hands, at certain times of the game. You definitely need to know what type of player, cause there are all different types. Mt option is need have to mark players, make it further in tournaments or winning cash games.
