Make sure that you are staying within your bankroll limits. I'd suggest playing a live mtt. It really was a great first experience for me.

very good article, very advisable not to play too much just enough to go familiarizing with the live game.
it's good to arrive early and get advice on everything that is new and ask about the rules of the house.
Once in play be very attentive to the game as a bad move can leave you without the pot you were winning.
It is a place where you will find a lot of people and between you good and bad people, therefore do not trust anyone promptly.

There is a lot of good advice here. But the main thing is to not be overwhelmed. There is a lot more going on live, and some pressure to act correctly and not disrupt the game. But it's just a poker game, take your time settling in and getting a feel for it. If you pay attention it will be fairly obvious, fairly quickly when and how to act. Then you can start concentrating on the chip stack sizing and tells, and all the other wonderful differences while playing live. Have fun, and don't let anyone intimidate you.

I just get so nervous when I play at a casino. I can do it, I just don't enjoy it nearly as much as the homes games I play. During my first ever live experience when I turned 19 I sat down with $100 at a cash table and played alright. Came out more or less where I started. However, one player made a comment on how he saw my cards on one of my hands, so it was an eye opening experience. Not my favourite place to be.

I read good information at this article, as i have never played alive poker, i have heard some of this tip before and mistakes that new players make. I think that having a good control of my chips and knowing the stack of my opponents would be difficult as online already tell. Other thing is about Gathering Intelligence. I do not have HUD at online yet and it is hard for me to read them. at least when i have been move to a new table or they just have been move into mine. I just can't wait to play some alive poker.

Three of my simple tips for those who will play live tournaments for the first time:

1. Carefully study the rules of the tournament in this case. Your experience of playing in online rooms here may not work. Do not hesitate to ask the dealer about all the details you do not understand before the game starts.

2. Play fast. Set blind, accept or fold cards. Do not forget the responsibilities of a live player (which usually makes software) and do not have to portray long thinking in simple situations, as is often liked to show in broadcasts. Long, long time thought to make some kind of idiotic happy action. Fu ...

3. Watch for yourself. Watch your facial expressions and gestures. What is not visible to opponents in the game online - will give out your intentions in a live game. Just relax, reconcile your reaction to the received missiles. If it's hard for you - find out what to do with your hands and face (take a glass of juice, for example).

Engage other players

It doesn't hurt in the early stages to converse with players on your table. I feel more relaxed after a quick chin wag.Pay attention is huge. The things you can miss while you watch the replay of the most recent game on tv can be detrimental to building a stack.

RELAX AND ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE

Thanks for the article, I will definitely introduce my friends to these unwritten rules. We often have similar small situations when playing live. Now we will avoid unnecessary disputes and everyone will know how to behave at the table while playing poker;)

It's a great article if you've never played live before but there are definitely tips that beginners should pay attention to.

casinos

I feel that if you want to play in a casino for the first time, you're best to going to watch for sometime before hand. You want to pick up on the casino specific rules - betting lines on the felt, bonus opportunities, the speed at which the dealers and players operate, and look for the most fish tables. You're most likely going to be sitting down with several regulars so know that and use it to your advantage.

Understand the table and betting limits too - if you're going into playing 1/2 NL and it's the lowest limit they spread, that could mean you're going to get a wider range of players. Some casinos also spread multiple types, so be sure to get your name on the correct list.

Find out the rules for switching tables, every casino is different there, as you'll want to ensure you're at the right game.

Finally, have fun. Playing live is a blast. If you're sitting at a chatty table, don't stick out like a sore thumb. They may not do it on purpose, but the regs may not want a quiet person sitting. Pick a table that suits you!

Cash games: don't play tired or hungry. Bring layers of clothes (jacket, sweatshirt/hoodie). Don't drink alcohol. Being uncomfortable in any way influences how well you think and make decisions! Not controlling what you have control over makes for bad poker play. If you feel yourself tilting, take a break/walk/time for a snack. Clear your mind and get some fresh air.

I only play poker with my friends, I have never played a serious tournament so that I can not comment on something great on this topic, I would like to try some kind of tournament and see how it looks to be live.
I guess that when I played heaven I saw it at the table and did not hear :), I would follow the other players to see first how they play and how much is ready to go to the bluff, as in most cases it also works on tournaments live (how much I am I can notice and see) maybe it's the best when it's playing live, you're disconnected from talking and talking to other players and playing your game.:saint:

I do not know many things to take into account in live poker, I really liked it and I look forward to participating in my first live tournament.

Two things that caught my attention were: Poker is a social game, and many regulars in live casinos like to drink beer while they play. But poker is also a game of decisions, and any amount of alcohol in your system can impair your conceptual abilities. I think it is essential to stay sober since we still make mistakes. And the other or less important for me was ...: The oversize chip rule: This rule frequently trips up unsuspecting players. Let's say in a $ 2- $ 5 cash game, you toss in a $ 10 chip intending to raise. If you do not say anything, it's just a call. This is the oversize chip rule. If you toss in a chip that represents a value larger than the existing bet and do not say anything, it is interpreted as a call. And on top of that, I did not have the slightest idea of how bets work in live events.

Really a very good article and a great help for the future.

good Article, helps many in the area of how to play live since in any casino there are different rules. in my case, playing live is stronger and at the same time a little easy as we have the opponents face to face, and know their gestures and weaknesses, the best way to survive is to wait for good cards and stay in the chip average and wait a bad move and take advantage

What do you think was the most useful tip? If you have played live, what would you add? My own personal advice would be: Don't be afraid to ask questions! Dealers and table mates are usually happy to help out a noob. :)

"Protect your cards" and "Avoid the booze" are very important tips.

Even if you have to use a small beer bottle as a protector - protect your cards !

And, well, you can play very good poker after you drank 2-3 beers, but if you drink 6 in a row, you are facing 2 problems: first, you can hardly sit at the table (due to WC needs) and second, your abilities to analyze and make good decisions become severely hampered, even if you feel yourself well.

My personal advises are two:

1. If you are a newbie, do not miss the chance to show others that you are a newbie. Ask questions, kindly ask for assistance by others at the table if you face a rule or something else you don't know.
This has two benefits: first, people are more likely to forgive you when you make "honest mistakes", and second, some sharks may think that since you are a noob, some stupid tricks and shenanigans may work on you - use this in your favor.

2. Try to transfer the good atmosphere and behavior in the CardsChat freerolls in your live games.
Saying "nice hand" or "good game" is not just a formality of etiquette - it presents you as a polite player whom the other players will like and respect.

Thanks again for article CC Team. This is very useful insight of live poker for the greeners in this matter as well as for myself. For the first time round, there is no less important to have backing with you which is experienced preferably. You need them to get through all arrangements and organization issues then you can easy move ahead to the table and think about your game performance only. Good luck!

There were some really good tips for players that haven’t played live, especially about putting chips in the pot, raising and pay attention at the table. I can’t even count the number of times I seen people come to the casino and make these mistakes. If you’re going to be playing cash games you should decide before hand how much your initial buy in is going to be and how many times you plan on rebuying.
