I think that I do it too much and I need to stop. I do it so people don't call my raises but it may work against me because they don't call me when I need them to.

Sometimes if I have a really good hand or if I bluffed someone and wanted to put them on tilt.

Yesterday I had AA on the button right before the 2nd break of the Satellite tournament that I was in. People were just folding all the way to BB because everybody had like 20+ BBs in their stack and there were only about 5 more eliminations to go. I bet 7X the BBs and turned my cards over after the blinds folded. The game was almost finished and knew we were all going to qualify. We were just waiting for it to be over with.

unless you know what you're doing: do not show.
Villains will link their reads to your cards.
If you can fool them later, fine, show, if not: don't tell'm anything (unless they pay for it).

When I play with fictitious money sometimes I show but when I'm playing real money I do not show it has to be a mystery

I show cards in a strategic way when I have the choice...

Let's take your exeaple... with kings,, at a begining of a game, everybody fold, no one paid yet to see my cards on a raise in a previous hand, it's something that I would do.. just giving a bit of information to start building my bluffs for later...

However, in the middle of a game... kings, aces, sevens, you pay or I fold!

I think you wouldn't show your hand, as someone said before it tells information about you so if you quite often bluff at turn and show some hands of them you can lose chips.

I never show my cards
it may be good for being proud but it may hurt u in the next hand
and ur opponent make his decision based on ur showing hand
but if u have big plans its alright

I never ever showed my cards until recently. I tried to see if I could get more action if I showed a bluff here or there(bluffing is not something I do often). And on occasion to show a monster to show how I may have played a hand(rarely do I play a hand the same way, obviously many reasons for this) in hopes of a fold later on.

I like showing my cards when there is a purpose! Like putting a guy on tilt when showing a bluff.! I never show the nuts. I will show a mediocre hand and play stupid like it's the best . To get action later. I never show the nuts! To much info!

don't show cards unless a rare hand is dealt, ie. Royal Flush

Even with that though..Unless of Course Im Getting a Royal Flush bonus , I still won't show. You are still Giving your table to much info especially depending on when you hit your Royal. If I get it in a Tourney , No way I will show that. They can pay to see that beautiful gift from god

Only in friendly games. Never at the casino... Unless it's AA in the first hand.

You should only give information in coordination with a strategy. In this scenario, no useful information was given to the opponents as he got a walk. However in return, he probably kept the mood of the table fun and jocular. Happy players are more likely to gamble and you can take advantage of that.

I had time to think about this during a long drive today. Here is an example.
$1-$2 NL Hold'em in Cherokee, NC
I'm seated in the 7 position. Position 6 seemed fairly competent. Seat 5 is an older male who is playing weak and tight, that is not playing many hands and folding too much. Hour and a half into the session, I get into a 3-way pot with Seat 5 and another EP player. Preflop - two limp to me, I raise with 55 in CO, they call. Flop - QJ2 - EP checks, Seat 5 bets 40% pot, I float with thoughts of stealing on the turn, EP folds. Turn is 8 - Seat 5 checks, I bet 75% pot, seat 5 tank folds, I immediately tabled my fives and the table buzzed for a minute or so. I did so with the expressed purpose of setting this tight player on tilt. Four hands later (FOUR HANDS!!!) he called a shove with bottom pair against middle set in seat 6. He was not going to get bluffed again! He did exactly what I wanted, I just wasn't lucky enough to cash in on his error. I convinced seat 6 that I was the cause of his getting paid off but couldn't get any money out of him. :)

Granted this is a unique situation and I only considered this because of the type of player seat 5 was. Short story is you can use anything to your advantage if you plan ahead.

If you sit down at a table that you notice after an orbit or 2 isn’t really giving any action, there can be some benefit to playing a little looser than usual, and showing a soft 3-bet or bluff when you finally get called down. Hopefully to get some people to open up and start playing looser.
If not, just keep those c-bets coming.

You can show sometimes but very few. Otherwise it is gonna be used against you.
Sometimes show a strong hand is ok, but try to find the good timing to do that.
Bluff I never show, ever !
