The old days

This will be my 38th wsop (I missed 2). I am primarily a cash player. It's amazing how much things have changed since my first WSOP in 1978. First of all, $10,000 was a lot more money then. Buying into the main event cost as much a new Cadillac. In those days, the Binions would take half of anyone who wanted to play. If a complete stranger walked in with $5000, Jack Binion would put up $5000 and buy half of his action

Wow - that is an interesting bit of trivia!

I have yet to play the Main Event. Someone would have to buy about 75% of me to do that lol. I can play so many other tournaments for that much money I just can't do it.

Colossus Event III

I was given a Main event seat by the Rio for free in 2007, played lasted 3 days had no idea what I was doing, other than the 5 card draw and 7 card stud my dad had taught me as a child. Playing the Main Event Did not play poker again till 3 years later. Where I met my good friend Jerry Yang in 2010 at our local casino Tachi Palace in Lemoore, CA. We have met up at WSOP every year for the past 6 years.

About 6 months later I started playing Texas Holdem, attended WPT boot camp for Tournament play as well as Cash play. I have not had the time I would like to put into playing Poker we will be Las Vegas Nevada residents FT as of May 20, 2017. Looking forward to playing more poker there. I have met so many good people in the poker community

I have been in a Poker league for the past 6 years, I have won a WSOP seat there twice. I love poker and I am always trying to work on improving my game. I have had the privilege of playing in a Main event, as well as played in several other events at the WSOP, I am hoping to cash this year.

Please consider adding me to the list and let me know my twitter accountant is @MamaJwes would like to play Flight B or Flight F

Also size is PM or Medium ladies, ty for considering me.

Jackie Wesley:)

Wsop team event

@mleolmstead. Twitter
I've been playing poker for a long time. Worked at the Valley View Poker Room when they had one. Also worked at Pala. Mostly play at Oceans. Made "top dog" list for the months of March and April. I've made it to fourth in a wsop ring event at Harrahs. Play in two poker leagues and host a game at my house twice a month.

Sounds great! If you have read and are fine with meeting all of the requirements let me know which Flight you will be playing and I will add you to the list. :)

Hi. I am planning to come and play in a few events. I will be in 5D or 5F, (as well as others) depending on flight schedules
I have played in several Heartland and WSOP circuit / Vegas events over the years. I have cashed in more than I have not.
Excited about coming this year and quite eager to play!!

:jd4:

CardsChat will be having it's 6th WSOP team event this summer!

We are putting together a team to represent us in the Colossus tournament that starts on Fri, June 2nd and ends on June 7th. The buy-in is $565 and there are 6 starting flights. It is a re-entry event that will run for 6 days. $1,000,000 is guaranteed for 1st place!

Flight 5A - 10am Friday, June 2
Flight 5B - 4pm Friday, June 2
Flight 5C - 10am Sat, June 3
Flight 5D - 4pm Sat, June 3
Flight 5E - 10am Sun, June 4
Flight F - 4pm Sun, June 4

The event will be a last longer challenge and the team will consist of 14 to 20 members. We are taking names now for those who are interested and CardsChat members are welcome to join in! Long term CardsChat members who meet all of the qualifications may be accepted right away - decisions on all others will be made in phases until the team is complete.

As we add members they will need to post in this thread to introduce themselves and give us a little bit of background on their poker experience and history. Link your Twitter account please.

Cardschat will pay $165 of each team member's $565 entry into the event. (This is a re-entry event - you can re-enter but we will only pay $165 one time per team member).

The team member who lasts the longest will get $400 - the remainder of their buy-in!

-In the event that no one makes Day 2 of the event, then we will determine the winner of the last longer by highest cash earned in the tournament - so choose your flight wisely.

We will also be giving away $25 Twitter prizes to team members during the event - we will announce those prior to the start of the event so you will know what to do to try to win some extra money.

You can start in any flight - however I will probably not be there until Sat. You must meet ALL requirements before getting paid. I will not be chasing you down to fulfill the requirements - including posting in this thread, so you could lose your spot if you don't take care of them in a timely manner. :)

Team members will be required to:
  1. Post their introduction to the team in this thread with full name and flight expected to play along with a link to their Twitter account.
  2. Participate in this rail thread. (or post their tournament updates in Twitter).
  3. Wear a CardsChat hoodie or t-shirt and use a CardsChat card protector throughout the entire event. (Both will be provided by CardsChat unless you have already been given one in a previous event. (They must have the logo on the back). Baseball caps and t-shirts will be provided if they are going to be worn. Hoodies may be placed on the back of your chair - however if you are being televised either the hoodie, a CC tshirt or a CC cap must be visible.
  4. Follow us and tweet about participating in the team event mentioning @CardsChat prior to and during the event.
  5. Tweet a picture of yourself wearing your CC gear and mention @CardsChat.
All of the above must be done before you receive your $165 - plus you need to already be registered for the event. You will not be eligible for the last longer prize if you do not wear CC gear during the entire event.

Greetings from Phoenix Arizona ❤️♠️♦️♣️

Hello & greetings from the desert! I've been playing for about 10 years in free roll NLH tournaments recently playing larger fields at Talking Stick Resort & Casino in Scottsdale, AZ and Fort McDowell Casino in Fountian Hills, AZ. I played in my first WPT deep stack even last fall in Tucson, AZ and made it to 45th which I was so proud of :) I am playing in the WSOP for the first time this summer 2016 and can't wait to be a part of the action!

I was so far under budget for my two weeks in Vegas the end of June, I was really working hard to make this work. I just couldn't find airfare low enough to make it work!

Instead I'll be planning a WSOP circuit stop within 8 hrs of C-bus this next fall or spring.

Someday Debi!

It seems odd to me that we all have to be a part of the forum to participate with in the events of cardschat yet for this live TEAM event the forum is accepting strangers to give money to! ( and not small money ) I am not in a position to make any decisions in this matter but I just wanted to make my feelings heard.
I don't think this is very fair. this is not to say these people entering the forum are not nice people and won't be long time contributors to the forum. but to me this just seems very unfair to the ones who had to participate for the privilege to belong :)
Well with that being said, I still wish the cardschat TEAM the best of luck in this event and hope we get seen and heard in the world. I do like being a part of this community. and plan to be for a long time. I hope these words won't create any animosity towards me, as I am for the team and the forum!
I hope this day is all you need it to be :icon_sunn
P.S. any hateful comments towards me for my opinion won't be responded to !

You are comparing apples to oranges. :)

We have online free rolls and forum events to reward the members who take the time to be active in the forum.

We do 1 annual live team event to promote our brand in the poker community. The team consists of a combination of loyal CC members, successful full time poker players and part-time amateur live players. It is a perfect mix that helps us achieve our goal. :)

I would like to add Debi to many members of the forum simply do not have the opportunity to get to Las Vegas, including for financial reasons. ;)

I prefer banana's :)
I understand your promoting the forum. I agree that this needs to be! I would not profess to know the true reasons for what decisions that are what they are . I would just like to see more from the internal group that's constant to us all currently
It's all well maybe one day we would be strong enough to represent our self's
shuffle up and deal :shakehand let the game begin.:trytofly:
I have read some of the wins some member have made! these are very impressive in this day and age of players.

:canabis: peace :icon_sunn

cardschat is a fun place to learn, I am trying to be a constant student!and playing is the best way to learn in my opinion.
