Learning how to play cards well i actually grew up in a family that loves to play card games and therefore i catch on to the game very easily..in addition to that i took a card dealing class.

You know any websites that have tips on card dealing and/or tricks. I pretty much taught myself how to do a couple one-handed cuts and rainbow. I can set a spades deck pretty well without anyone noticing.

I suppose I could do an Internet search, but this is just another way of boostin' my post count. :D

I really would like to know though. I'm sure some are better than others.

I'm French and I don't know if there are a lot of guys from my country chatting on this site.
Sorry for my poor English.
I started playing poker with a Welsh neighbour working in france. But we used to play draw poker.
To improve myself,I went on internet to play with play poney. But no draw poker anywhere!!!!!!!!
Texas holdem is much more exciting

I learned to play on 7 Sultans way way back. I signed up and got $10 free. I built that up the hard way, but my big score was in a $1000 freeroll, came in 2nd. I made a $50 deposit and cashed out to the tune of
$700. Those were the good old days with the big freerolls and free money.

I learned to play while I was deployed on ship with the Marine Corps. We played every week for about 3 or 4 months.
Later that summer I won about $600 at the MGM Grand in Australia.

I learnt to play by being pursuaded to attend a game down at the local. I really enjoyed the experience that i started going every week now i'm playing on line and loving it. But i keep getting bulllied out of hands all the time playing live i can get a good read on when people are bluffing but you don't get the same advantage on line.

I walked into a cardroom at a casino about 15 years ago, and told the floorman that I wanted to learn texas hold'em. We were in close proximity to a 4-8 limit game when I asked. "Come on in," the regulars said...."the water is fine ;-)" The dealer and players very patiently taught me how to play, and so began a pretty expensive education.

Where did I learn to play poker

I wrote a reply to this Thread a few months ago and after thinking about my answer, decide that I did not give an accurate account of where I learned to play poker.

I can say, I leaned the fundamentals of Poker many years ago. That is to say, flush beats a straight, etc.

When we played in those days, we would wait unitl we got a good hand and then bet. Nothing technical at all. And, usually there were so many bad player that I seem to win most of the time.

However, to answer the question honestly, I learned to play poker on line about three years ago. That is to say, using more technical skills of poker learnt from the poker forum.

After starting on line poker, I listed to the advise of the good player, ask quetions, and read all the books on poker that I could beg, borrow or steal.

So, answer to the question is: I leaned to play poker on line.

I am amazed at how the better players are willing to help other lesser players improve their game. I think it shows the better side of the human race.

I have never ask a question that some one did not give me an answer, or never ask a question on poker and how to play a particular hand, that I was critisized or berated for asking dump questions.

Although I am not a very good player, I have improved my poker skills many times by belonging to Cardschat and getting assistance from other.

And, also have a long way to go to claim the title of good poker player.

Thanks for listening to may raving.
