Where did I learn to play poker
I wrote a reply to this Thread a few months ago and after thinking about my answer, decide that I did not give an accurate account of where I learned to play poker.
I can say, I leaned the fundamentals of Poker many years ago. That is to say, flush beats a straight, etc.
When we played in those days, we would wait unitl we got a good hand and then bet. Nothing technical at all. And, usually there were so many bad player that I seem to win most of the time.
However, to answer the question honestly, I learned to play poker on line about three years ago. That is to say, using more technical skills of poker learnt from the
poker forum.
After starting on line poker, I listed to the advise of the good player, ask quetions, and read all the books on poker that I could beg, borrow or steal.
So, answer to the question is: I leaned to play poker on line.
I am amazed at how the better players are willing to help other lesser players improve their game. I think it shows the better side of the human race.
I have never ask a question that some one did not give me an answer, or never ask a question on poker and how to play a particular hand, that I was critisized or berated for asking dump questions.
Although I am not a very good player, I have improved my poker skills many times by belonging to Cardschat and getting assistance from other.
And, also have a long way to go to claim the title of good poker player.
Thanks for listening to may raving.
