My current bank roll is small, like I said. $75.00. Could I contribute more? Yes. But, I am trying to play as smart as possible and lose as small amount as possible while I am making my transition from playing this game just for fun.. to making a profit off of it. I have always been a decent poker player. Especially in live games. In live tournaments I win cash 90% of the games that I play. Online, I place a lot in the top 50 but do not always get to the cash portion. A lot of times, I Just barely miss the cash out.
Sorry, I don't get what you are trying to say. Can you try to explain it better?are you skill? but A LOT OF LUCK
i won 50$->1400$ but im little SKILL but they are stupid hands and all in and they are nothing that is a donkey.
with a small bankroll, i'd stick to sng's or small field tourneys, i wouldnt play cash micros because you have more chance busting your br against those lucky beginners than reaching mid stakes.

What stakes do you play live? Are these home games or casinos? Sorry for so many questions. I am just trying to better access your situation.
As far as online tourneys go you can place in the top 50 when you are playing against 300 people that dont know the correct way to play poker.
Don't quit your day job. Best tip ever.
You need to win about $200.00 per day to even be in the ballpark. So your minimum poker bankroll would have to be around 10,000 dollars. It is not impossible, but those who have tried would be the best to advise you.
well your roll isnt puny, many try to go from 0 to hero, so you're already way ahead of them
do you only play/prefer tournies?
you should have 50-100 buyins for the level your playing
so $70=$1(maybe $2) games
really follow bankroll management (its what screws us when we move up too quick)
do you play sitngos? the smaller fields over large mtts means more (but smaller) wins
if you're just grasping position, theres so much more to read up on and learn,
position is a BIG factor, so is knowing what type of player you're against,
when to 3 and 4bet (and fold),
M value (when stack is small it comes to a push or fold game)
bubble play (dont play scared just trying to min cash)
do you study your hand histories to see where you are losing most? (like overvaluing ak)
there really is more to this game than people give credit for
but it sounds like you already do very well and just need to fine tune a few things
forget being a pro and just keep up the regular wins, and 1 day you may hit it big

I do prefer tournament/sitNgos over cash games. I do not know why, but I don't feel as confident in cash game play as I do in a tournament type setting. Lately I have been playing a lot of DONs and I have won about 80% of the ones I have played. So I am starting to slowly build my BR through those. I mainly play the $2 ones. How do you all feel about DONs?
The best thing to do is build a bankroll. Learn to build it slowly. The more patient you are the easier it will be to build. If you try to build your roll to fast you will be eager to recoup your losses and it will hurt your game in the long run.
As far as being a pro you are nowhere near anything like that. Learn to be a winning player with a $7,500 roll then you can think about maybe becoming a pro.
Become a student of the game. That means reading, controlling and reviewing hand histories, and of course playing everytime you have the chance. I wouldn't worry about becoming a pro until you are a consistently winning player. That takes a great deal of time and practice. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, I realized that quite quickly with online poker. There seems to be a lot of bad beats that happen on the micro cash tables. Its pretty disgusting what some people play with for cards.
What you might want to realize instead is >>> if you can't win on the micro cash tables with a higher winrate than anyother stakes, you have ALOT to learn (perhaps more than you might think).
I'm not suggesting that cash games is where you might want to play (especially if you're more comfortable with sng/mtt). Seriously though, microstakes are going to obviously be the easiest tables to win on including those 'lucky beginners who play with disgusting cards'.
As others have mentioned, great you want to have a 2nd income from poker but tbh from reading your posts on here (& elsewhere) you might want to think instead about becoming a student of the game ie. put in 20k hands at micro stakes & see how you're doing. imo it takes a long time before you'll be making any kind of hourly rate that would come close to working a few extra hours of overtime at your day job.
Jason Sommerville has a youtube channel and at the moment, he is transforming a U$50 into a U$50k bankroll. It can be really helpfull!
