Slow Playing Preflop: When and How to do it

im a tricky player so, I would love the slow moves I think.. specially against some loose players or maniac people lol. In Some hands u have to be cautious and play slowly if u want to earn some chips.

I don't generally like slow playing preflop but it can be useful at times. If I am late position and have a player who shows a tendency to bet loose post flop, I will consider this option.

This, like everything in poker, depends on the situation. It may work sometimes, but bad things usually happen to me when I slowplay big hands pre-flop and on the flop. I too have had my 4-of-a-kind on the flop beaten by a higher 4-of-a-kind by the river. You should not give opponents free cards and more opportunities to win the hand.

It's really a very risky strategy and as all guns of our poker arsenal have to be well studied having our opponents as our main raw material. It's a good tool like limps, 3bets... to help us to get some chips.
