Day 2 - Types of Actions in Poker

Passive Actions: to call a bet or raise
Neutral Actions: to check or fold
Agg(good game)ressive Actions: to bet or raise
Unsure what to do, choose an aggressive action.
Aggressive player? Try not reacting and rather concentrate on the cards.

But remember, good players will be calling, checking and betting.

Day 3

Thinking in Ranges
I think I understand.

Opponent's hand should not be one specific hand, but a range of cards with similar action.

First you have a specific hand, what you can use to think of a range of hands the others have, through the course of their actions you adjust that range of hands and confirm it, if you can, at the end.

Then look for those same actions, that will help you to have a better reading of the others' range of hands.
(I'm sure somewhere will be something about bluffs.)

:D

It seems to me that systematization in the presentation of material is simply necessary. Tell me after which lesson I can start playing, and after which lesson I can consistently win?

Day 4

Types of Equity
Equity in poker means the share of a pot, the chance of winning in a given situation.

It can be expressed in chips, Dollars or percent.

Equity versus a range, to use the same calculations, but with an array of cards.

Tournament Equity; more chips the better chance of winning the tournament.

Fold Equity, chance of making the opponent to fold.

Action is gaining equity by taking it.

Day 5

Pot odds are the ratio of the current pot size to how much it costs to call

Pot Odds .....................Percent you need to Win
1:1 ..................................... 50%
3:2 ...................................... 40%
2:1 ...................................... 33%
3:1 ...................................... 25%
4:1 .......................................20%
5:1 .......................................17%
10:1........................................ 9%
100:1 .......................................1%

Expected Value means how much money you'll make or lose from a decision in the long run.

EV=0 when you check or fold
EV+ when you call or raise

Day 6

Pre-Flop
Factors affecting Pre-Flop ranges are position and opponent, stack size, tournament state and Ante size.

Attack limpers and tighten up against raisers.

Effective stack; the most you can lose in a given hand; your stack unless you cover everyone left to act.

Hands to play as First In Pre-Flop (with an Ante)

Under The Gun and UTG+1:............................66+ AJo+ A9s+ KQo JTs+
Middle Position and Lojack:............................55+ ATo A7s+ QJo+ T9s+
Hijack and Cutoff:...............33+ A7o+ A2s+ JTo+ K7s+ Q8s+ J9s+ 76s+
Button:...............22+ A2+ K6o+ Q7o+ J8o+ T8o+ K2s+ Q4s+ J6s+ 54s+
Small Blind:...............22+ A2+ K2o+ Q5o+ J6o+ 85o+ all suited hands

Day 8

Continuation or C-betting

Keep betting lead to win the pot immediately.

Don't C-bet on coordinated or "wet" flops, multi-way flops, you monopolize/win the flop. Backdoor draws; after the flop you still need 2 more cards to straight, flush or straight flush draw.

C-bet when is a dry flop, the cards are not connecting to each other.

C-bet when is a rainbow flop; all the cards are different suit.

Day 9

Implied odds, a vital deep stacked concept.

Preflop, the ratio of how much you could win to the cost of calling.
Post flop; ratio what you are likely to win if you connect to the cost of calling.
Better odds with deeper stack, more active players.

Reverse implied odds, another concept.

if you are ahead, you will win little, if you are behind, you can lose lot more.

Day 10

Playing draws

semi bluffing aggressively by default.

Passively, when you have little or no fold equity or you have showdown value.

When opponent shows weakness it's time to bet or raise.

Facing an all in, see if the draw wins often enough meaning if it has the right pot odds to call.

Implied odds 5.5:1 can turn a fold into a call.

Day 11

Bluff
It's about ime to talk about bluffing.

Streets are the flop, turn and the river combined with your hand.

C-bet, semi bluff, using opponent's weakness, no showdown value are good spots to bluff.
Scare card changes the board texture and weakens hands that were strong on previous streets, make sure that you credibly represent a strong hand.
Short-handed or heads up; pressure your opponent(s) with value betting and bluffs.
