i just started playing poker few months ago, and i can say it clearly, i will make lot of money from poker sooner and not later, i dont know why i have this feeling, but poker is really a life changer, and we had a lot of examples, then i ask my self why not me? its real that you need some time to approve your playing and learn more, but anyone can do that in a few months and level up his play, and i dont suggect no one to read books about players who won, do it your self, lose win play, you will get your own exparience and your own thoughts and may be, may be one day you will be one of those who write books about how they won so big in poker ;)

If you can earn money in poker, that if you must study a little and follow the tips of the sites dedicated to poker. Of course play enough for you to take experience and put into practice your knowledge. And the amount of money depends on many factors. As for example the size of your bankroll, which limits you to play in certain limits of Buy in.

So how much money can you make playing poker? The answer is a common one in all things poker: it depends.

It can depend on a variety of variants such as the individual's skill set, the type of game they play, where they play, who they play against, and so many other factors. And the cold hard truth for many is that the answer to the question is an emphatic no.

Luckly, we've broken down all the variables for you to decide if this poker thing is right for you. Read the article and chime in below with your thoughts and experiences.

Interesting article !!, really not much money I get to do playing but if as you say depends, I do not think one but you will be great to play poker can do the same amount every day because it is basically impossible I think I .
The case is to maintain a minimum.
In my case it reaches the maximum win without 1000 € when deposited but I quit and now want to focus on freerolls and climb slowly.
Greetings.

Interesting article again, as always, dear CC members.

Actually I did not expect, that the win rate of cash games is only at 5 BB. I thought it would be more. But I also do not play often cash so far, therefore I have not enough experience. Sometimes I try to mix up my games with them a bit or chasing some promo of a poker room, hehe.

Therefore as I am mainly a SNG or MTT player. I can oversee the winnings better on SNG than MTT. The MTTs have too much variance for me compared to the SNG to say that they are so lucrative. Well yeah, I am also playing mainly freerolls at MTTs and therefore I make a plus when I am winning and rarely a minus in paid tourneys.
And at the SNG I always have to do my buy-ins.

Playing MTT any player can win a big amount in a short time , but at long distances it can only be done by professional poker players and I'm not one of them .Having played about 20 thousand tournaments, I lost about $ 5 thousand. But there is always a chance to win, because MTT dispersion discipline.Poorly only one thing I have a limited bankroll and endlessly fail will not work.

You gave the answer in the first sentence:

it depends!

I think one of the most important factors to consider is the bankroll management someone follows. For example, a conservative cash game player who follows an 80BI rule, will climb the stakes much slower than a player who follows, lets say, a 30BI rule. Thus, significantly less profit. Also there are some players who prefer a more safe path to poker. In one of his articles, the microstakes grinder Blackrain79 said that he prefers a moderate, but steady and safe income mass multitabling at the micros than risking his bankroll at the higher stakes.

For now, I cash mostly in freeroll so I won't get rich like that.
I played some big tournaments with ticket I won.
The payout was sooooo huge but I did not cash anything in those.
I am not ready to enter big buy-in event , not now.

Hi all, to make money if you can, but as the article says is not like most people think, look for the style of play that type of game you like, the Bank roll and other variables. For example in tournaments you have to play many games to achieve success. It must be taken into account in a tournament bluy in, and take into account the Bank roll. Because you always have to think about how many tournaments you have to play. Article also I liked the part where it says the anger of a player and that happens to many. So very good article. regards

Poker for me has been a good therapy and distraction.
I love to play and I try to learn every day.
At this point I am not yet able to earn enough money.
I have been taking part in some freerolls and some low buy-in sit & go.
I still have to improve a lot to become an average player.

Good luck to everyone!

There are more interesting things in poker than profit. To meet new people, new places. As Lena Evans said: “I love the poker community, as it has brought me into a world I never would have been exposed to in my life endeavors. It has brought me so much joy and truly meaningful relationships and friendships.” Not to mention game itself.

There are two possible answers to this question. If you just play for fun and want to make some money, it's not so difficult. To achieve it, you need some skill, to study and have a minimum of discipline. You can play micro stakes, and have weak players against you.

But when your target is to be a pro and live only from it, the things go harder. First of all, you need a good bankroll. First, because all the pros have big losses sometimes, and need to have enough money to bank it. And it's virtually impossible to grind only the micro stakes and make a decent money.
And even when you have enough money to start, one will need a high skill and a lot of dedication, much, much more than a good recreational player. It's a hard work.

Despite the fact that there is a lot of people in the social networks promising that they can make any one a glamorous professional poker player, only a few ones can make it.

Very interesting article.

First off holy crap Gus Hanson thats quite a graph and quite a hole to be in.

You have to make uses of deep runs with final tables thats where the money is if you look at the DNegs part of article thats what they describe.

You have to choose what, where and when to play. Timing is key but most improtant factor is comfort. You must feel comfortable playing in order to have any chance of success. This ties back into Bankroll Management. You must be willing to loosing everything in front of you during any given session. If you don't have this mindset you tend to be timid and do not maximize spots you winnings will be limited.

My best advise to be successful and profitable is to find a niche - a game, a game type or game format or structure that you are either good at or have most luck in. Concentrate on that even though it may not have the big bucks and then take your once a while shot at the big payday tourney.

Most of the times we have to grind it out a ltttle profit here, a break even there a minimize loss. Once in a while once we keep grinding everything goes right these are the momonets we must study, practice and play for. We must try to make full use of these moments.

If you set out to make $3 per day you will have $1,000 in a year. Most newbies have high expectations and when they blow their bankroll, start sounding off about the game being rigged.
Lack of skill and variance kills most of their expectations.
My attitude is have fun, and if the dollars roll in good luck to that too.
You can waste a lot of money discovering just how difficult the game can be.

For most players, it is much more than they think when they start playing.
Many of us are beginning to think that one day we will be profitable one hour and the reality is different. As in any other profession, poker has to have an effort of dedication ... and yet for nothing guaranteed. The reality is that you lose more than you earn and when you have the opportunity to win, you can not lose because it is they who will make up for everything that was lost. I think the initial question is about how many you can win in poker, but we could tell you how much time and money you're willing to lose to maybe win.
"maybe" because it will be your skill
which will determine.
There is a phrase I like very much: there is no free lunch. That's why I'm posting here. Good luck to everyone

very good question.
but it is also interesting to ask how much of the earned can be kept in the account.
I think we can win more than expected, for example if I'm in a $ 2.2 entry tournament and it's 5k players, then if I win the first place I'll have a good win, however if I play a tournament with $ 215 entry and I do not get prizes I've lost a lot.

for me the big problem is knowing how to choose what type of game to choose when entering and according to my mood.
and everything I have lost is due to the cash game with the uncontrolled mood, since mostly in the mtt games I get to itm.

and in my case I think it could be around $ 50 with freerolls alone, since I do not deposit more online

Most times people focus on table, table, table... but that is not everything, we need some good mindset and a good bankroll management helps us on it. On tables you get pots, off tables you get money.

Definitely depends on the frequency of wins and what kind of tables you play at. It can be as much as $10, or as much as well, limitless
