We are in a continuous learning process, it's never too much, but staying only in the books, I don't think it's correct, the learning process always starts when sitting down to play live, studying your opponents, plays, movements, nervous tics, etc., another learning online, I observe each move, each move, each way of playing, betting, time, in short, the learning process, it never stops, in my view, it is never too late to learn. good luck

Playing is studying, playing is not reading; reading is studying; play more than reading is better than read more than playing.:D

Of course, poker is mental game of you against your opponent in which before the showdown after the river you battle against each other against the fear and idea of who has a better hand, that battle is with chips and just like any other area of study you can study that behavior, for sure it will make you win poker games

I think it is a matter of playing many tournaments and getting to know the game and rivals
I started at poker reading books and keep doing so, not so frequent but still. The most that I know about poker come from my books (all levels) and articles around the net plus CC. But playing and watching the pros have been giving me some extra understanding about poker players minds

Just playing poker can help you get familiar with the poker environment and allow you to practice certain skills (like learning math odds), but they won't teach you anything worthwhile that poker books, mentors or just experience can provide. Even just by watching the game of a strong regular, you can learn a lot, look at different game situations and decide for yourself what is best for you. At first, you can get into a series of failures, but if you work on your game, on your skills and strategies, you can get good results. If there is an opportunity and a desire to play poker and develop, then training is a must.

Most people, in my opinion, do not study enough. The more you study, the faster you'll improve your game and boost your theoretical win rate if it's a concentrated, successful effort. In other ways, all you need to do is play enough to practice what you're learning. Then, at some point, you'll have a high enough win rate for your specific level that you can start putting in a lot of volume and watch the money roll in. You can return to additional learning as you advance and face tougher opponents.

Studying poker CAN help you improve, but it can also result in bad decisions if you apply things from different places in an incoherent manner. Studying requires application and review of hand histories, and analysis of your weak points, to provide the most benefit.

Certainly. It's always good to learn, and it's not just about poker.

Studying alone will not get you anywhere, as practice and theory are often significantly different.

I think it is rather a hybrid of both and with the increasing number of tournaments you play, you will gain more and more experience.

I myself am a complete "learning by doing type" but without any theory I would lack the knowledge for elementary moves.
I think it also depends on the sources, but even here in the forum, you can take a lot for your game :)

Personally, I think it's great that nowadays you even have the opportunity to watch the pros live on Twitch etc.. Who, if not them, know how to play and you can be a part of it and get inspiration for your game to improve it.

If you study poker, I don't think it makes you win, but it definitely makes you better!
As an example, I made good choices in a hand only by instinct!
The study helps you to consciously choose certain situations

It makes you lose less, for sure.l, but regardless, it has a big luck component and no matter how much you're studying, it won't guarantee you'll win big.

Only theoretical training is not enough. More precisely, training is a necessary but not the main component of a good result.
The main thing is a lot of playing practice.:)

writes about experience because everyone sees that understanding of the game comes with time, you can study at the university for 5 years, but you won’t become a good specialist until you have worked for several years, especially in poker where there is some luck, as in any card game

if you want to be better than your opponent you have to study, the result in poker is long term and always depends on how much skill you have for this sport and of course how many hours you dedicate to study which is an important tool if you want to go further in poker.
