These have been very helpful to me since I'm a newby. Think I'll have to get "Harrington on Holdem" to digest everything in full. Thanks, y'all.

Baluga means white in Russian. Baluga whales are white. Good luck figuring out what it means with respect to poker.

A few I didn't see in here:

HEM
Flatting ("i'm flatting a lot of suited connectors")
Kxs ("more likely to 3bet Kxs rather than a suited connector.")
SC (or SC's)
equity against ("a cool thing called equity against 3bet calling hands")

All these acros and abbrevs used here and here (for context). (Also, can I presume ye was just a typo?)

Thanks

HEM = http://www.holdemmanager.net/ A software program used by players to analyze things
Flatting = Calling a raise/bet
Kxs = The K stands for a king, the x refers to any other card in the deck, and the s stands for suited. So this could stand for KQ suited, or K9 suited or K5 suited etc etc. In the same way Qx, would mean a queen with any other card such as QJ or Q8.
SC = Suited Connectors, hands like 67 suited, 89suited, 34suited
Equity against = hard to describe this with my crappy use of english, but it means like your percentage to win the hand against your opponents hand. So AK has approximately 50% equity against QQ whereas JJ has approximately 20% equity against QQ

BelugaWhale Theorem - When you are the preflop raiser and your turn bet is raised or check/raise, it is time to re-evaluate one pair hands.

I never knew there were so many different names for poker hands and cards. I'm still a fledgling poker player.
But I would like to know, what could be the best omaha hand

Did some looking with google to turn up some info on the ones that haven't been answered yet.

EBB - I think is just ebb, either the player or the game is slow or not having much action(good cards).

ICM - Independant Chip Model? A program for analyzing games like SNGWizard.

Seattle Stew - No clue.

Rock - A very conservative player.

Tricky - A tricky player.

Fish and Stew - Pocket Jacks

Could be wrong with all of them though, that's just what I could find in a few minutes of searching.

Oh and FTW, in certain MMORPG's someone saying "player x is FTW" is a compliment, basicly saying they're a good player. In a couple others I've seen it used sorta sarcastically as someone already pointed out. So it does depend on the group and the setting.

This is in stark contrast to other poker variants, such as cash games. Tournaments are unique though the additional strategic component of positioning yourself tactically for the end game during the early and the middle phase

what?
