Thanks guys - I appreciate the feedback which is pretty much what Joe had told me too. (But you know women don't like to get feedback from their husbands lol)

Why does learning how to be a good poker player have to be such a painful process? I still feel the pain of losing that hand over 5 hours later lol. And it is not the pain of money - it is the pain of knowing I made a mistake at a crucial point.

I know exactly how you feel, 2 weeks ago I I'm in the 3$ rebuy with 26 ppl left. I have 1.5 mill and in like 8th place. I lose a 3 Mill pot with my AK losing to AQ....I still cringe know that I could have easily made 6k that night if that Q didn't hit, but ive been trying to tell myself I wanted that AQ to call and in the future I will that hand and go on to go deeper :)

This is my stats over 79 hands in an mtt. I used to be like 17-19% over all hands...so I have def loosened up, but for the better. I encourage a lot of you to experiment with the LAG style in low mtts so it doesnt hurt you much if you lose, and to study up on the style. Most of the big winners online and live play a LAG style, and it has helped my game so much....

Awesome idea for a thread. I'll have to read past the OP tomorrow.

I should think a lot of people will participate in this because I think a lot of the players just starting out with small bankrolls turn to small buy in mtts first (together with sngs).

Here is a good example of floating. I think this board is really good for it. My raise PF can make me look like I have AJ easily. I also think my low value bet is better than a big bluff on the river...any thoughts?

Also a lot of timing was invoved in this hand. I snap called his flop bet, and he was slow to check the turn and quick to check the river.

the line u took looks a hell of a lot like AJ trying to be sneaky and i think the river bet is perfect.

Very nice play. I definately like the small value bet at the end because thats exactly what it looks like, a value bet. And until you give others a reason to think otherwise, I think it definately works better then the huge overbet, that is of course until you switch it up to confuse everyone, and make a huge valuebet when you connect.

c/c the river instead of betting it imo. You have the best hand here like 90% of the time, so are actually turning your hand into a bluff, when you can check and get weaker hands to bluff.

so if i get a weaker hand to bluff the river, I am supposed to call or reraise with A high?

call ldo, since a raise isn't going to be called by a,q or a,9 or any hands you beat.

very nuce dakota...but i must tell you this..JUST because you lost with it before 3 times doesn't mean you stop just to make the money due to fear.
Remember you are not going for the min cash you want to WIN!!!!

In that hand with JJ.....plz raise, tbh I get even more aggressive right at the bubble and ecspeacially a raise from UTG will most likely get you the blinds....if you go broke, then you go broke...once again you want to go for the win :)

I know. Well since it is my nemesis let's look at this one which happened a few minutes ago in same game. I don't know a lot about him other than he has taken down several pots with raises unchallenged in just the last 10 hands or so:

Yeah, sorry daks, but did you think about the fact you were calling off 1/3 of ur stack. What would you have done on a A/K/Q flop ?
That is a 100% shove preflop.

This is of course a call.
