Hey man i definitely have a fear of losing when playing for real money. If i only have what is on the table and not much more there is definitely a fear factor there. That is why i try to only play when it doesn't hurt me at all if i lose what im playing with
When I started online poker, I only played with play money for a few years and then later came to pokerstars and there I started with the freerols for a few years and only then did I start with the money to play. It is really a shame that it is now the case that you as a German player cannot play any more play money at pokerstars and I suspect that this is also the case with other pokersites, because to learn poker it is always better with as little investment as possible to play. There are still some freerols at pokerstars but most of them are gone and you can no longer get what used to be. The exception is of course the freerols from CC but you have to be a member here and you have to do a little bit for it. That shouldn't be a complaint but it's just a shame for the people who are not members here. And oh yes if I'm afraid of playing poker with money, well losing is never nice but if you are afraid of losing money then you really shouldn't play poker with it so no I'm not afraid of losing but still don't like to.
I think that passion to win at poker is more effective than fear for me, because when I lose, especially if I do well in the game, I feel more sadness and anger than fear when losing money. I don't think I get scared when I play with money, I just get sharper and more focused.
It's definitely a different experience than playing freerolls. But there's no discomfort, as long as you play with the right bankroll management. And only a significant amount invested that you want to win back at all costs makes you clamp down, play scared poker, and it gets in the way, of course.
Really in poker you will not score well unless you give all your skills in the game, whether in the free tournaments or whatever is a cash buy-in
Good luck .
Not any more, you need a bankroll you can afford to lose. So you can play poker the right way.
Sometimes I envy players like Daniel Negreanu, because I know he can afford to play any tournament on the planet.
He can easily buy into a $5000 tourney and bust, then do another re-entry and play almost for fun. You can do that when you have a million dollar in your account.
When I started playing, it was $ 2 and it seemed like a lot of money for the game. Now for me it's a penny, although the level of income remained at the same level
I find playing for real money more exciting and don’t generally like to play for nothing as people play a lot differently when money is on the line however I do get very nervous playing for big buy ins (I tend to play tournaments for low buy ins that lead to big buy in tournaments) I played a $109 Sunday million game and I was so nervous
I can honest say I was never afraid over the money being played. I was more excited that afraid but I can say when playing in the 1st bug $$ event I was afraid I may do something dumb at the table.
Good afternoon. No,I did not.I would say that I was excited and nervous because it was the first time I played a real money tournament.Fortunately,as many of us, that money was won by playing freerolls and if I wanted to improve my game , then real money tournaments must be played.
that was definitely my case and it is today. When I start playing there is always that little fear of ending up losing too many boxes at a certain level, and I play microphones, I suppose that is something that professionals who play at medium and high levels have worked well and who are precisely where they are at who have managed to dominate that fear and are aware that dowsing can come to them at any time, but that it will not affect them much because they play on the bench, I have to work a lot on that part of fear if I want to get to live from poker which is one of my big dreams.
No, try to avoid CG, thats more stressful, and even more insane than tourneys for me.
Tourneys, i dont care, never register higher than 10-15$ tourneys, so i comfortable with micro, low level buyins. why should i have fear, because of that?
