What would be the reason for live poker to end and online poker to take over? I wonder what high rollers who play cash would think about this. I don't believe either live, or online will every come to an end

No, I think that bluffing and reading players is a big part of poker. So poker won't be only online in the future.

I think online poker will beat live poker stakes, but that's all. Live poker will continue for sure.

No I don't think so. There is always going to be people wanting to play live poker. I am one of them. I don't however play it as often as I do online but it's a nice way of getting out and socializing/drinking :) Atleast it is for me.

Live poker is a big industry, so I think that it will always exist, we have big players that don't like to play online.

There will always be live games, even if it's just playing with friends. It's possible casinos may find that it's more profitable to dedicate the floor space to more slot machines and electronic gaming than to poker tables. I'm sure they'll be more and more electronic poker tables so that dealers can be eliminated. It's all about the bottom line for Casinos. But, events like the wsop are such a huge draw for Vegas, I can't see live poker disappearing anytime soon.

Online or live!!

For me the experience of online poker has been a humbling one. I enjoy it immensely, and figure that it will take its place at the forefront of the poker world due to its ability to bring minds from across the globe to play a single game. Nothing like a live game, and the ability to make moves off your own ability to act, is something that just cant be done online. There is something magical about it. Therefore i think that live poker will always hold the place in my heart as the most exciting poker action to find.

I do not think the Poker Live ceased to exist , but has rather diminished its field and I believe that is because of online. But that very soon return, because the online ta with many changes that in the long run is bad for us .

Online poker is getting smaller due to all the regulations and restrictions imposed by local governments.
poker sites themselves are marginalising the poker and promoting casino games and sports betting more.

But people will always have a pack of cards and some coins to play with even when the lights go out.

No, it is the live experience that tends to build the demand for online poker. That being said with how individual the human experience is becoming a trip to a casino may not entertain future generations profitably.

No way that will happen. Just look at the amount of players that showed up at the 2016 WSOP...

I do not think poker live longer exists. It is true that technology gives leaps and bounds every day. And although it is very comfortable to play from your computer or mobile, there is nothing to supplant the live tables is playing in a casino or at home with friends or relatives, to see face to face your opponent and analyze their movements, and fool with your bluffs are things that would not change .... :pcguru:
