I'm definitely addicted...I can take brakes for long periods but cmon.....anything a person can do for 72 hours straight without sleeping has to be defined as an addiction

Poker is not a bad addiction

I have had many bad habits but poker is not one. Poker addiction is one of the best addictions to have in my opinion. Everyone has issues with losing and being on top is the best, but its important to enjoy this game as it was made to be enjoyed. Take "most" of the pros for example its important to notice how much fun they are having while enjoying their addictions 8). Im new to cardschat and just posted my intro thread yesterday, so hello everyone do not be strangers!!

i dont think all addictions are bad. if you are profiting at poker its not a bad habit ......bad habits usually hurt your lifestyle and people and poker profit doesn't do either in my opinion....besides time away from family poker is cool as shyt...lol

There is no doubt I am. I'm thinking right now how I wish it was 30 minutes from now because that's when my tournament starts. I would give up the good herb,and my favorite meal before I gave up poker.
It's just so fun!!
Although combined with some good herb,and your favorite meal, wow!

Nope not addicted at all, I used to be when I was younger in my teens, but now I'd describe it as a passion. I don't need to play and can go for weeks/months without feeling the itch which I think is a good thing, but like I said still very passionate about it. I'll get a whiff of a few people having a conversation about poker or a casino or some kind of gambling and I'll want to dive right in it.

Giving up good herb before giving up poker is bad decision making. I'd muck that!

i understand what you're talking about. i would rather don't smoke for 3 days ( i am a very BIG smoker ), than not play poker. at least i have to watch some videos, something, but can't breath without poker in my life for a day, though my winnings havn't been greater than 300$ LOL!!! it's beautiful, it's a discipline, it's sport, it's magic. maybe my perseverence would bring me some money too, since i'm trying so hard and let's be honest, everybody who's playing poker dreams of big winnings.

I have a personality that very easily gets addicted to stuff, so yes I'd say I'm addicted to poker. As well as smoking and swedish snus (tobacco you put under your lip).

Was gonna quit smoking so took the step to snus instead. Ended up doing both

But yes, the last year I've grown more and more addicted - and as I've started to become a winning player, it becomes even more addictive.

I think I have a problem ,

I play all day I think about poker when im going to sleep I'm constantly chasing the big prize I keep chasing that one big tournament cash that will take my game and give me the bankroll i need to start making a profit playing for a living.

I obsess over the game and its become my only desire for money,
I feel like I dont want to work but want to invest everything into becoming good enough to make a living online.
