I prefer this season, for me it's very exciting and stressful when a few hours sitting and win the prize of feeling great! Well, if you lost, then you have to win the next one!) I wish you all success and bright holidays dear friends!
I've been playing poker for the last five years. I play tournaments more and often get into good prize money. But no matter how many times I try to sit at cash tables, I almost always leave after losing every cent. Even if one day is lucky to raise at the cash table, the other day is not lucky and I again lose everything to the last cent. I think maybe I should stop playing cash altogether and spend more time playing tournament poker? What do you think you can advise?
well, you're looking at two different games.
For cash games you need different strategy, and good thing about it, if you're bust you can always buy back in and play again.
This is good if you play against lose player who just got lucky, you can buy back in and get that player next time.
Playing in tournaments is a different strategy than playing in cash games so your approach has to be different. In tournaments just being able to last can allow you to cash but in cash games you have to be able to win hands in order to get chips.
they are different styles my advice is that you stay in what gives you money, the MTT, if you want to diversify your game study more how to play cash and enter with little money then post your hands and read the criticisms of other players that way you learn more fast and then you can play with more confidence and better at the cash tables
There's a reason that cash game players make fun of tournament players playing cash games and consider them fishes.
When you play deep stacks there are more mistakes to be made.
Focus on what you are more successful on, so tournaments and play cash games occasionally.
The fact that you successfully play tournaments does not mean that you can plyusovat in cash. This is a completely different format igry-- then more complex solutions and a completely different math! If you are not given cash is better to keep what you can!
It may be that you are playing cash in the same way you play tournaments can be one of the reasons since these two modalities require different strategies analyze what I say and study strategies for cash and maybe you change your mind, good luck
Yes, definitely. If you are more successful in Tournaments, then play only them. And Yes, if you want to play Cash, then read the literature on this topic. And sit down to play Cash from $25 or $50 ranges a lot more. Anyway why do you need the cache if you are playing the tournaments.
I also put myself in the same situation, and prefer tournaments as well, but I believe it is important to stick to playing other types of games to improve your game.
The same thing happens with the game on the cash tables. I immediately quit playing cash tables. Because I’m better at playing tournaments. It’s more likely that the game strategy is different between tournaments and cache.
I play many different types - cash, tournaments, sit & go, spin & go, zoom, sats, Hold'em, Omaha, NL, PL, H/L, regular speed, turbo, hyper, multi-table, single table. If one isn't working for me I switch to another. Each requires a specific mindset. One day multi-tabling 6 cash games may be profitable while the next day playing one bigger buy-in tournament may be best for me.
Max flex. Go with the flow - whatever works at the time.
Hi, the answer is easy. You should play the game in which you are more profitable, that is , in you case, tournaments. It has no sense to earn some money in a tournament and then lose everything in a cash game.Good luck in your tournaments !
MTT of course! sit every day trying to earn 2-3 buyins? nah! much more interesting to feel the competitive spirit throughout the tournament and experience much more joy from winning. in my opinion the skill set of a tournament player is more diverse and wide
I only play tournaments online unless I am in vegas then I have to play in a select few there, otherwise I play cash games in live poker, so much more relaxed and I can sit, enjoy the conversation, and get up and leave as I wish. Poker tournaments are so much better online cause they are so much quicker. I can find one that fits my budget a lot easier online as well. Everyone is different though, and my preference may even be in the minority among most.
