I'm not a very successful player, I play a lot on freerolls and sometimes I switch to big games, there are winning days, a lot of losing ones and it's hard to make a big bankroll

At the moment, I'm studying the game to know how to deal with the variance of the game and get results.

In my case , i'm the guy who loses with 98% of winning the hand...
Maybe i play too agressively...

Keep calm and play poker.

Unfortunately I am not yet, but after an analysis I made of my game, I believe that amateur I am no more .. I got 300 BR dollars, I made $ 0.25 and 0.50 $ I'm doing well .. my problem It was the Spin Go, I lost a lot of dollars there, I made the 3X BR because of them .. today I almost did not play spin go because of that. I hope my game gets better every day.
I'll try, redo the BR with the freerolls, maybe I'll invest a little too, and I'm studying to be a successful player.:)

When I stick to my formula and stay focused I do not do bad. Making money involves investing time so thats what gets hard and I skip my formula resulting in TILT lol

Ive had Much success in MTTs-a few live, and many online- mainly during the ol glory days 2004-2006 on pokerstars, PP, UB, Cake, Paradise. A PS 10+rebuy victory, $33rebuy on UB, $109 PS turbo MTT, anda $30 rebuy on ParadisePoker are my biggest scores-any Vets out there remember that juicy fish pool tournament/site??, a few other memorable tourneys on UB, Cake and partypoker as well. Unfortunately, I was only in my mid to late teens, young, dumb, drinking way too much, lavish spending habits, and eventual got hooked to the rush of a gambling high. Betting amounts beyond my means and stakes beyond my roll-playing both blackjack and high stakes poker online starting age 15 and live starting age 18 in Minnesota occasionally and then frequently once I turned 21 in my homestate of Iowa.

Anyways long story shortened I lost almost all of a six figure bankroll from ages 18-21 playing blackjack (mainly live, but some online) 300/600 and 1000/2000 limit poker on UB, and few dumbass sportsbets on a whim with no insight- a very memorable 5k loss on a game back when SHAQ played for the Sun's lol.

You don't really realize u have a gambling problem til u lose ur last chip- at least for me...and having so many big scores in the past I assumed they would continue and I'd be okay- but I started chasing the whole bankroll back in one day, play a big 1k tournament or something silly beyond my BR, not to mention the game was getting MUCH HARDER after the initial rush to online poker ( i remember so many soft tournaments initially that I could almost bank that I'd win, or atleast FT, a $5- $22 MTTtournament every few days for a $500- $1000 score) not to mention my whole outlook changed... i was chasing the Dragon like a heroine addict chases his first high.

Jobs became hard for me to hold down- I'd win a decent sized tourney and then suddenly not want to have any job outside of poker and gambling and not show up to some crummy job i hated.

Flash forward to current day... 12+years since I started in high school with friends and online. I barely played at all for about 5 years-a few successful tournaments and live cash games with nice profits still went sour at the blackjack tables- have been to a casino less than 10 times the past few years. I have luckily been able to hold onto a servers job at a VERY FANCY Italian restaurant (that serves unlimited soup salad and breadsticks) that pays my bills, puts a little into my 401k each week, a little extra spending cash, and some extra $ to put into my etrade account. I currently can say, I trust and now enjoy, investing in companies versus my own wild and compulsive self. I've also won a few BOL freerolls and FT quite a few other Freerolls so watch out poker world 😂.

Successful MTTs- yes ++++++ev
cash game- live yes, online no =ev
sports betting- no ----ev
blackjack- no ------------ev
video poker = ev 😂
golf +ev
scratch tickets----ev
investing ++++++++ev

Talking about the success that comprehends the player in any day or week, in my opinion is not entirely correct. On my own experience, I can say that for a career I won over $ 20,000, but is it a success? Hardly. Most likely it can be called an achievement, nothing more.

I feel that I can be a successful player. I have been sidelined for a little while while in school. Now that I have graduated, I can devote more time to honing my skills. I am a solid player that tries real hard, put together some more strength and practice. I should come out just fine.

I have not played poker for a month (wedding + honeymoon). I thought this would be good, a good rest. But this holiday was too big for me. I began to play worse. So far, it is not possible to play as patiently as before.

In my experience I've won very little money but with that little money i can play better torunaments, my goal is to win enough money so I can suscribe to a better tournament. I've been practicing with the freeerolls.

I'm playing for the game. I like the game itself. It would be good to still earn on this, but so far I have not been able to. I do not have a minus, but there is no plus. I do not spend my bank, but I can not increase it either (

I am successful in the fact that I notice that I am progressing as a poker player and getting better but not necessarily winning a high $ amount but getting better while staying +EV and making good decisions with bankroll management.

Totally where I'm at. Making progress but slowly. Although learning a lot more at poker this go around. Hopefully if and when I move considerably I will be ready for the transition.

I don't believe I am successful, I have cashed in a few live tournaments, a few online tournaments, but nothing major. I play because I enjoy it, and the more I eaten, the more I can play non-freeroll games

I think so. I'm happy with where I'm at poker wise but am working actively to improve and grind more. One marker for my success is that the friend who taught me to play and who beat me in small home games for years has recently acknowledged over past few years I've surpassed him and can beat him regularly. Another marker for my current success standing is that my mental game in poker is definitely well ahead of many players along with being able to hero fold correctly more often. Much better discipline, much better understanding of odds/math, much better tilt control and much better patience. But a work in progress as always.

My only regret in poker is that I didn't take it more seriously and with more focus/discipline when I was younger. In past 2 years or so I've had more poker success and improvement than in the prior 10 years or so of playing poker off and on lol. In past 2 years or so i've had some small but nice tourney scores , a relatively good but small start to live cash poker, and a vast improvement in my online cash game. Still always learning of course and right now I'd say I'm probably currently break even or slight winner (although last year I was having quite a profitable year for someone who was a losing player for years) which I'm fine with due to some swings, trying new formats (6 max vs full ring).

But I'm confident that I'll continue to improve even further as I do have a goal of playing higher stakes , more regular live play, and eventually playing wsop events occasionally. Got to have goals but instead of challenges I've put my head down and just have been grinding a lot more.

If you take the last week, I can say that luck has turned his back on me. I hope that's all going to change!
