I think that isn't too many womens at tables because we usually start in poker playing with frinds, and this home games usually are with mans... But I dont believe that the womans have this characteristcs in game, there are plenty of womans that play a agressive game

Honestly, as a woman, I don't think it's "bad" to say a generalized statement like "why do so few women play poker?" If it's a statistical fact, there's nothing wrong by exploring reasons. Maybe it signifies that overall women find less interest in the game? Maybe it could signify something deeper, but I don't think that's likely.

Playing live games, it's not a "boys club" -- there are usually at least 1 or 2 females at a table.

More than gender, I find that age range is more predominant than gender with poker players tending to range 50+ (as a majority - both male & female). At least in live games.

As a female, I think women have a large advantage where men often underestimate playing skill -- can't complain there! :D

This girl agrees with everything you said. I find it about a 70/30 mix when playing live, and I guess higher online, but who knows. And don't believe that 'ladies don't bluff' part. That is just false. :)

And I love poker and fishing!!

My son introduced me to Pocker! Now I have a lot of time, I'm a pensioner, so I get pleasure - time suffices!
I think that a young woman simply does not have time to sit for hours at a play - children, a house, taking care of themselves take all their free time!

I think I would be very easily annoyed if I was sitting at a table with 9 women for a long period of time and I'm sure it's the same way around for some women.

Hello.
My name is Lena.
Although, I started playing poker recently, a few months ago. And I do not see any advantage in men before women.

after I wrote this, I noticed how the number of women in poker tournaments has increased, I think that's very good and I hope more women enter the tournaments.

What I don’t agree with is women’s only tournaments. It keeps the separation there and advertises it. I know it’s trying to encourage players but I don’t think it helps, especially women’s only online tournaments. Online ones baffle me the most

thinking just been old adage of being boys club game just like men don't like to go shopping for most part but these lines can be easily blurred and women have every right and as much talent as men they just think little different which can be a great thing when comes to poker and be used to their advantage i would love to see more women playing poker the few i do know that play do play quite well and are positive roi at casino games and most men play casino are negative ev so find it quite hilarious women less ego more thinking i think

It's amazing - why hide under a man's name? I am well supported during the game, they write "Come on, Eva! Eve done!" It seems to me that many of my female name and ability to play well very much!

This is nice Eva, I also would like my mum to play some online. So far she played only within family poker games. She is also a pensioner and would have the time for it.
I also see, that she plays daily in internet scrabble or so with others.

But I also think, that many women have the fear about loosing money or becoming kinda addicted to the game. I think poker has this reputation like many other casino games as well, to be addictive. And I just think, that therefore many women avoid this.

Women play card games and other table games a lot at a certain age with their friends. And meanwhile they play more and more in the internet, I was researching this during my study.
But maybe not poker, because of this before mentioned reputation.

But I think, meanwhile the younger kids play less and less any table games or card games together. They are not used to do this, because their parents do this not anymore.
They are used to their pcs or mobiles and the games on these devices. I think, even more
on mobile devices. And there are hardly good poker Apps for mobile.

Hi

I have played with some pretty good female poker players. Gender has little to do with good poker play. I would like to see more women join the poker movement.

Some of the women I play poker with are better than most of the men. I've seen men that play tight and never bluff so I don't think that is a female trait. When I play the CC freerolls and CC league the women playing there can sure hold their own.:D:D

Like Empress said

I like Generalizations in poker specifically.

You can learn what others assume about you. My wife loves the assumptions people make about her passiveness and post flop honesty. I have watched a few little men frantically storm out of the casino ranting and raving about "who plays that trash" once they realized she played to their ignorance.

There are quite a few where ladies who play where I live. All sorts IMO. Not sure they fit a mold. Like any player base line them with a generalization when you first play and use your heuristics to adjust as you play then. Not racist/sexist, just math.

I'm glad that a good opinion of Eve777 - thank you! In some tournaments, we may have met! Yes, Mom let him continue to teach to play poker online and, most importantly, you invite her to the Kardschat team!

Busy?

I think loads of women are simply to busy to generate enough interest. Im the only female player i know irl. My sister in law once got really excited finding out i (try to) play poker. But when we got a party together and sat down i found out she only knows omaha and swears its texas hold em. Ok ill play omaha but the guys in the party didnt know how to play that. Dunno how to take their pokerknowledge seriously tbh. Other females i ask just say.. nah im to busy with kids home, cooking and work to learn it
