THANKS for making me think about this....... I have never really asked myself why I play.
There are a few reasons I play though I realize after giving this some consideration. Although I am not a very competitive person there is a huge rush (
hands shaking, heart beat increase, sweating) when I am doing really well and there are few things in life that can do that to me (insert bad joke here). Now, I am challenging myself even more by seeing just how high I can get my $20 investment. Also it is something to get my mind off of all the other things in life. When I play poker I (for the most part) stop answering emails and working on other things that regular life makes us do. It really is a nice break from "life" for a couple of hours. More and more though I find myself really just trying to become a better player overall. I will admit, I do not "study" poker, but I try to hone my game on the table.
