What was your introduction to poker?

Intro to poker

I met poker through a TV show that was playing every Sunday. And you? How was your first contact with poker?

I wasnt really interested in it until after I began to deal poker. Spent alot of years dealing NLH and PLO.

Fifth sixth grade break and lunchtime draw poker..

5th and 6th grade, pre-holdem, got together at lunch/break-time for draw poker. Was intense, playing for lunch money. Some things never change: I don't remember winning or losing often, mostly breaking even.

We used to play home games dealers choice. Lots of weird games with lots of wild cards. And I guess I started watching poker on tv and just fell in love.

I met poker a long time ago. The EPT 10 London was shown on TV and I caught fire with this game.

In my case it was just before the black friday days so poker was in great boom and there were commercials everywhere on the TV and internet. Poker was something new for our country so many people were playing trying to win big money quickly. Also at that time online poker was completely unregulated in my country and there were a bunch of sites offering regular freerolls or free money on registration or both. We even had a group at the university which played home games for some time. Everything was rather short lived though and after initial excitement for few months i stopped playing without trying to improve my game. Around 10 years later i started playing again mainly during night shifts and this evolved later to a regular game play this time with the intention to become better player.

The first time I saw poker playing with my brother in high school and I found it interesting. He also taught me how to play poker and it seemed like an opportunity to make some money and that got me into poker.

I first saw poker on TV, but did not pay attention. It always seemed to me that this is a very difficult game. But a few years later I downloaded Texas Hold'em on my phone. Played with bots. So I learned to play. Then it turned out that some of my friends play offline. One of them introduced me to pokerstars.
