Cash games are a lot more stable for me.
MTT's feel like a complete gamble sometimes (when the blinds are up!)

Good question

Hi FadedFamous. As for me, I like cash games, so I can quit when I want to. But in a 5+ hour playing time each day, and at 10nl, and if I don't lose, I might make $20 a day. Now MTTs are different. If you can reach the final table 2 or 3 times a week, then it would be way more than $20 a day. Hope that makes sense. GL to you

Free-roll MTTs will always be profitable as you never have to pay, to play, so becoming good at Poker is all about practice, Free-rolls are the perfect opportunity to practice, practice, practice, and practice some more.
You don't need to be rich to play and advance in Poker, you just need patience, once you have matured in the tournament games and can play well, you can start to play in Micro stake Sit and Goes, and develop a different playing style for them, without it costing you an arm and a leg to play.
The most important part about playing Poker is try to have fun, Money is a poor 2nd place in my book, and I never play trying to win money, I play for the pure enjoyment I get from the game, The money is just a bonus if you can stay in the game long enough.
I find by playing this way I can take the pressure off me, and play better if I am relaxed and I am only there for the game, It is always about the chase, not the results.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

opinion

Of course, at first glance, MTT tournaments are more profitable. But, on cash tables, you can hit a big jackpot in a very short time. And in a tournament you can sit all night and fly out on the bubble. In general, everyone chooses for himself.

In my opinion, it is better to start with tournaments, but playing cash also has its advantages. From the beginning, you need to start with cash games in which you will learn to work faster with a full stack and learn theory faster.

Cash games.

As a novice player, I see cash games more profitable, with the strategies that I have learned, I do better there.

I think it depends how small is your bankroll. I would not advise playing anything but freerolls if you have, say, less than $60. It's all about risk management. That's why I set rules, just like you would in trading. Only risk a small percentage of your bankroll, set your stop loss at a couple of buy-ins and your take profit at 3-4 buy-ins. That should maintain a healthy balance, both mentally and financially. Don't need to overplay. Furthermore, don't enter tournaments that you can't afford, only enter tournaments if you have at least 100 buy-ins. I must confess that for MTT's I have defied my rule and entered slightly higher buy-ins only if the guaranteed was worth it. So I only had $100 but risked $3.30 for a 10K GTD because I thought it was worth risking one buy-in, so no rebuys for me. Another confession is that after losing my tiny bankroll several times I decided to go through the excruciating pain of spending 1000s of hours playing freerolls for pennies to build my bankroll before allowing myself to invest smartly in cash or mtt. I ended up with a bankroll and a lot of invaluable experience, for free. Now I'm building bankrolls on several platforms. I accepted I'm not going to be a millionaire over night but I might in 10-15 years.

I've always played tournaments I love them and I like them more when the late registration ends, in tournaments I earn more because I know how much the risk is when entering the cash games is more complicated and with a lot of time to have personal gains all this I say It is totally according to my point of view, in tournaments you see a lot of hands if you start early and all kinds of players enter.

Personally I think that cash is more profitable than MTT, if you have a small bank for example of 50 USD you can start playing in nl2 with 25 boxes and go climbing levels until you reach nl100 where I really believe that it is already a profitable level and maybe you can live off the game.

I used to try to play cash games many times, but usually only lost money. So I stopped playing them and a miracle happened, thanks to tournaments my bankroll started to grow. I don't like cash games, and to be honest, I just don't know how to play them.

Recently, I have increasingly begun to realize that it is more convenient for me to play cash games. There is constantly not enough time for long tournaments. Although tournaments attract me more, it is more interesting for me

As for me, tournament poker and cash games are two different disciplines in which different types of players play, so you need to choose what is closer to your liking, but for me the best tournament poker, in which I like the structure of the game, and in tournament poker in a certain part of the game you need to make different decisions
