Same here lol. I love crunching numbers so dealing with pot odds and constantly assessing your risk vs reward seemed like a lot of fun. I used to gamble a lot in the stockmarket, and gambling in poker can at least be just as fun and cheaper too.

Dude the gambling part is so much fun, it's one of my favorite parts of poker, because it's intrinsically built into the game, and since everyone is adverse to it--it's all good!

What made me start playing poker was my friends. I was over one of my friends house and everyone was playing poker and I had never played. After watching them play I went home that evening and looked into the rules of the game and the next game night I was sitting at the tables where them and been playing every since.

What made you want POKER? Who introduced you to poker? pleasure or leisure?

Well, I always liked card play, I really got intrigued when I watched some movie and saw those guys playing, especially in the Old West.
I remember I in the late 2000s I started researching about the game, and learning its rules, I found it a bit complicated, more over time I learned everything that was needed initially. I remember that the first time I played online, was at Everest Poker, I don't even know if the room still exists, it made me even curious now, since I mentioned it.
Well, that's about where I got involved in this mind sport.

Actually started playing poker late 90s at a neighbours house. Started playing £5 in the pot for chips. Winner took the lot. Then gradually the amount went up. £10 - £20. This was before online poker was readily available. Once it was though. I just started playing that.

I made fun of poker during the hayday, I would literally be watching people make millions on TV while working my crap job (before I was a photog) and call it gambling, I did not get it, I did not get it one bit, despite a co-worker who strived to be good at the game. Yes, he sucked, an impractical gambler, which...made me hate the game more at the time. My mind was on working as a watchdog for the news at the time while working security to get credentials...long story.

Anyways, after that all fell to crap (another long story) I played Zynga...and thought (I knew it was rigged playing there) this might work somehow elsewhere, and I do enjoy the game ..lol, this went on for years, many years...so decided to look into actually taking it serious, this was about a year and a half ago.

So here I am, studying the game And doing ok for the most part, breaking even on non-regulated sites, and doing A-ok live.

It is one of many hobbies I have, but I do think there is a great amount of potential!

I started playing many years ago when I was working in the mines. We used to play Manila then, similar to Holdem.
Then they had it at the local Casino, then I found online poker. I wasn't very good at it, but was enjoying it.
Now it is banned in Australia. I tried rejoining party poker the other day but it wouldn't let me download it.
Have to wait until the local Casino starts playing again.

I was playing a lot of online chess. My wife said that she was surprised I did not play poker. I did not how to play but thought why not give it a try. So I joined PKR and learned the basics. Tens of thousands of hands in on different rooms and i am still learning but love every minute. Still play chess though!

as a child, I was taught the rules of poker by my own father, then I started playing for game chips and then for real money.

I enjoy the challenge of playing and showing a profit.
Not many players consistently turn a profit year over year.

the challenge also makes me want poker every day, no doubt with the results so we only have reason to want it but poker

I was introduced to poker at a high school get together, and did pretty good ad it, so I played very casually until Paradise Poker, and party poker came along, and I got more involved, and have played online regularly ever since.
