I don't know, I would say go with whatever game is available and what you like.
I was lucky to play with stud players and learned a lot of stuff that I could take to a nl limit game like thinking about opponent hands and simple math like pot
odds to call a hand and I liked playing it more than NL Holdem. I never liked holdem either limit or nl but I worked on my game because that's what everyone came to the casino to play because of the poker boom and where the money was.
Never a fan of MTTs because you could sit for 4+ hours and barely make the money or twice your buy in at my local casino and I could make that in about the same time playing a cash game and I could walk away from the table if I didn't like how things were going in a cash game session for a break when I wanted to.
I never ever felt like I was going to win a NL tournament live or online and still don't even against horrendous players today because I know the true nature of the game. The only time I had the feeling I could take a 1st place in any tourn came from playing online stud tournaments during the poker boom. So I was never a big fan of tournaments because all of them were NL holdem.
