What got you into poker?

I used to catch Poker shows on cable TV until I cut the chord six years ago. Then I discovered there were many poker videos on YouTube.

In late 2018 it dawned on me that I could play poker online with play money to learn the game. I joined Replay Poker in November of 2017 and started playing for real money online in May of 2018. It took me six weeks to bust.

In July of 2019 I put up 120 USD to neteller and have been playing real money ever since. I'm still playing on that stake. I take comfort that many elite players took years to be winning players such as Fedor Holz and Doug Polk.

The game keeps my brain working and exposes me to a worldwide community of smart people.

I remember a real bad time in my life I was about 9 we were getting put out of our apartment because my dads ex wife cleared their bank and left me my dad and my brother. We wound up having to move to a different city but after the hard work cleaning and packing on top of that already being poor we were all deflated. my dad got me and my brother put a 10 dollar bill in the middle of a big box and pulled out some plastic chips and said “it’s a winner take all tournament” and I don’t remember anything except playing all night with them and actually winning. I’m sure I didn’t understand the exact rules my dad had taught me because that was a few months after he had actually explained them in our first home game but it was great. we walked to McDonald’s in the morning I always use to think it was a huge treat and my dad congratulated me and thanked me for the food. Worst time in my life but I wouldn’t trade the memory for the world. I hope you guys enjoyed this one there are alot of emotions behind this story.

The showd the legends of this time, brunson, iveay, negreanu, lederer, helmuth etc. So i was interested in playing games and i make my first account on pokerstars. In the last years i play more and learn more about the game. I watch german pokerstreamers on twitch and learnd somethin about the theorie. In freeroll i getting better and winning some money, so i could use it for microtourney. Im on my way to increase the bankroll. I hope i could win some money over a period of a year. That all the time and the passion would be a little bit paid.

Many years ago i was watching Poker Shows on our local TV. After that i start to play poker sometimes. That was how i start to play poker. But to be honest at the beginning i was loosing every time. Was depositing really lots of money and just loosing this, because i was playing really bad. I just don,t understand at all, how to play poker. But at that moment i was thinking i can win money playing this game.
Right now i don,t take any fun from this game, and even all this poker shows is not looking so interesting, as it was at the beginning.
