I agree with your comments. Hand selection is very important in cash games, and the level of players in mtt is notoriously lower.
Personally I would like to find more cheap tournaments, where the level of blinds increases in longer periods of time. Since this allows a better development in the hands, because if the blinds increase every few minutes, the tournament becomes more risky and less likely to show the skill of the players.
I currently play tournaments, and cash games at pokerstars.
Greetings.

Do not encourage yourself. Yes, I agree in tournaments a lot of weak players, but they are all (eliminated) as they approach the final table !!! Closer to the final there are basically only strong players. So in order to win the tournament you have to make a lot of effort !!!

I love both types of games, I would say that I am a player of: cash / tournaments in a ratio of 70/30.
I share the dream that many players have, that of winning an important tournament and that my life changes forever.
I consider that the type of game in both modalities is different, but it has very similar moments.
For example, in the first phases of a tournament, which must be played in a more conservative way, this makes it more similar to the cash game.
But as the tournament continues, the differences between both modalities begin to be noticed more. For which I prepare in a similar way, saving said differences.
Greetings.

I prefer tournaments. Cash games I play very rarely and usually they are unprofitable for me.

I’m a live cash game player, and an online tournament player. Doesn’t make sense even to me but that’s how it’s been working for me ....

Are you a tournament player or a cash game one?
If I could put it in to a perspective, it would be something like this.
Cash game is like art subject in school, and tournament like math class. Usually the mathematicly gifted students are not good in the art department and the other way round. There are exemptions of course. What do you think about people and how they play in both?
And how about you?
Hi, I think cash games are also about math and discipline. Probably a bit more bluffing and less calculations. I prefer mtts.

I love tournaments more than cash games. Although, if you compare cash with art, and tournaments with math, then I have to play only cash))

I like the analogy in the original post too. I guess that helps explain why I like to play tournaments more that play cash games. I majored in math in university and was the pits at art related subjects.

For me cash game is like a battle but tournament is like as war.

I prefer cash games because i win very often. In tournament u should wait for win sometimes for very long time.

To win the war u have to win a lot of battles = big swings.

I play tournaments more. I get more pleasure from this game and can lose less money for the time if I played in the cache

I like tournaments more, but in my case I also need to play cash, I think that in the tournaments one is calmer, looks at how many people are left, checks if one is close to entering the winning places, plus one can open the other tables to see how other opponents play.

I really like the tournament so far. In the tournament the nearest goal is to reach the final table. As a consolation prize to take a prize. The final table itself is like a cash game. We need another strategy. Since the gain is more solid. And disappointment from losing, too, though.

Both of them, cash to see money in short therms and tournament to see it in long therms.

and that would depend exactly on my bench at that time, and my personal way I prefer the tournaments since it shows the level of each player

I prefer tournaments. In MTT games you can win a huge prize with small buy in.

My main focus is tournaments, I like the idea we all start with the same amount unlike cash games where in some case there isn’t a max buy in. My bankroll doesn’t allow me to have an unlimited buy in

Both. Poker is poker. I think I'm better at getting poker tells in tournaments ( playing live), but if I want to play a shorter session I choose cash.
