You mean like when you raise your pocket A's from the button and some moron calls you from middle position with 35o and pulls a str8. And then some idiot always has to say "Nice Hand". I do hate that!

Maybe they mean "nice hand" because that hand took a good player out of the tournament and doubled up this idiot that called your raise MP with 35o.

that and open shove

wtf is open shove anyway ?

someone care to explain ?

Open shove = shove with no action before you on the street. At least I think. If you're raising all-in it's not an open-shove. Also I think it's usually if you're first to act on said street, not so much checked to. I don't know the exact definition, but that's how I use it ;).

I'm with the people who think that "nice hand" should be a banned phrase at the poker table. This goes for hands that you win when you have the nuts. My reasoning behind this is that if you get a hand like AA (obviously a great hand), you didn't do anything to get other than just sit there and let the dealer give you cards. What you do control (mostly) is how much you win with a hand like that. There is nothing impressive about flopping a set of aces with no flush or straight draws and only picking up the blinds. What is impressive is if you can get a hand like that and then use skill and proceed to take all the chips away from a player. Thats why I say something more like "well played" instead, since (good) poker is a game of skill.

I always hate hearing "all in."

Something I like to say is, "the blinds are going to get ya."

1. Singing The Gambler at the table. Especially if the only words you know are "You've gotta know when to hold 'em". And especially especially if you can't sing.

Hahaha I like this one, could just imagine going to the local casino and doing this :D

i think, 'show if i fold' is irritating enough. so many people around me think it makes them look intelligent and use that line to pick up 'tells', when they have no clue in hell what a tell means.

and... 'how much do u have left' when it's obvious they dont care how much u have in your stack, and just thought it'll be cool to intimidate u. then they fold. bah.

Yea I definitely hate the term donk. Some guy thought he was super pro with his AK vs my 23. He doesn't preflop raise so i called bb. Next flop is 23A. He bets 250 with 1500 chipstack and i raise him to 500 and he calls. Turn is a 2 we check check. River is a king and he goes all in i call and win with full house he calls me a donk noob that shouldnt play poker and sucks at poker?!?!

That is excellent!

In poker (and also in anything else, really), I hate it when a new term pops up so all of a sudden everyone has to use it as much as possible so they can try to look like they're hip to all the 'cool' jargon.

Here are some of my favorites:

I Lose with QQ as an overpair to 7Ts when he chased a flush after 3 streets of betting (and hits): "That's why I never play QQ it always gets cracked by suited cards"

In a cardschat freeroll on bodog, with 2.5 big blinds I go AIPF with QJs: "I can't believe how many donkeys stack with QJ off."

When my KK gets cracked AIPF at a live 1/2 game by JTs when he hits a miracle J on the river after a J633 board "Actually I know that JTs is by far the statistically best hand in multiway pots"

A particular player in my regular $2-$5 game yells "EVERY TIME!" when he has pocket Kings and the board is ace high. hahaha. And I remind him "yes John, it IS every time, isnt it?" with all seriousness.

Yah, I really wish the PROS would lose that one. Matusow, Esfandiari and Hellmuth are especially bad for this. I think even the moderators are getting a little tired of that one, from their comments, especially Mike Sexton.

Im plain sick of hearing the word donkey used as poker terminology. Everyone seems to use the term which makes it meaningless. I guess everyone who plays poker is a donkey. Used to only hear it online, but the term is now used in all the live games i play as well.

This is by far the best word in Poker!! What a word along with its little brother, Donk!!

I love it! And you're all donkeys to me!!
:D

What I hate the most is: "it's a rebuy moron!!" after some genius called your all in with 72o and you used an aquatic metaphore to describe him!!

Just because it's a rebuy it's OK to lose money. That just doesn't make sense!!!
