Talking out loud when online

sometimes, ill talk when im bored. But i rarely get any responses. Sometimes Ill say something crazy, yet no one says anything. I can't tell if there being really serious or they just dont like to type.

OP is actually talking, not typing. Chatting in online games is in most cases simply wrong.

You're not crazy until you start answering yourself, if it turns into a conversation start worrying.

I do this too, I feel that one of the biggest mistakes in online poker is making automatic decisions without thinking, if you talk out loud you have to explain why you are doing something

I talk to myself all the time. Its really awkward when someone catches you talking to yourself.

It is but I don't learn, I still keep getting caught

When I do get caught, I start to sing so it looks like I was singing instead, not sure if I look convincing

I do that too and i would strongly recommend that. Why? Because it's one of the best advantages over live poker, simple as that.
Psychoanalytic psychology says that it is very important to channel emotions outwardly, especially when its about negative emotions, so its healthy and we actualy have a chance to do that while we are online

I do not talk that much playing online. I do find myself over celebrating big wins or huge suck outs I make screaming YEAH!. I would never do that in a live game.

Yes, im that guy screamin at the top of his lungs at the laptop, "WHO SHOVES 28off PRE-FLOP and then wants to cuss everybody at the table out for losing with that hand?!?!..GET OUTTA HERE KID! CANT U SEE GROWNUPS ARE PLAYIN?!!?

.....yes this is based on a true story, unfortunately.

And, I love coaching the table at showdown. No one can here me of course...so there is also that to deal with...
And yeah, i am also petrified to play live as well for fear of doing all of this aloud at the table while simultaneously exhibiting 30+ different tells at the same time lol.

I talk when playing online but not aloud.

I 'say' many of the things others have mentioned but only inside my head.

I think every online player does it.My wife has came into the room several of times a asking me ,"who in the world are you a talking to"? Then she follows it up with "you didn't hear a thing that I was talking about,did you?"

time to time, mostly when i badbeat against me, for instance, i´m holding AK, and the villain pays a 3x raise with K5,

the flop comes A-K-3, the villain goes allin, i think he has a set, but no way i will fold my AK, so i shove too, the turn shows a 4 and the river a 2,

so i start like: ´no way, are you kidding me?´ or ´ís it against odds to runner runner once and again?´

well it occurs after three or four unbelievable boards (especially turn and river join together), then i tilt and start talking loud playing poker with nobody else in the room

Is it just me or does anybody else talk out load about the hands they are playing when online with nobody else in the room... Or am i slowly going mad.

its even worse when your gf happens to be in the room when you're playing poker and hears you talking... to "yourself"

maybe we're both going mad

If I typed in chat some of the things I say out loud you'd think I was a poor sport. Usually I'll try complimenting with the keyboard while I'm calling so and so names from my mouth. Many years ago, I read an interview of Henry Kloss (I might have that name wrong) who was the inventor of 'Hi Fidelity' audio, owner of 'Advent' sounds and the 'K' in KLH. In that interview he stated " I'm not in the habit of talking to myself". Now, that quote from him comes into my mind more times than not when I say things out loud when I'm the only pair of ears to hear.

It looks like a lot of people talk through the hand out loud to help them come to the right decision which is a good thing...I think.
