I haven't been playing poker lately since I been working 2 jobs and haven't had the time too. But I have been sports betting as of lately due to its flexibility to where I can place a bet on my phone anytime and just multitask other things and priorities in life. I miss the game of poker and want to get back into it soon by the end of the summer or late in the year to next year. With that being said I wanted to ask should I keep both gambling formats away from each other separately and have certain money for poker and sports betting? Or should I keep both in the same stash together to make even more money together?

From my personal opinion I'm going to find a way to keep them both separate but I am curious for other people's opinions what do y'all think?

It's always a good idea to keep your gambling activities separate and manage your money for each activity separately. This will help you stay organized and in control of your bankroll for each type of gambling.

One reason to keep your poker and sports betting money separate is that they require different skill sets and strategies. Winning at sports betting typically requires a deep knowledge of sports and statistics, while poker requires a solid understanding of strategy, psychology, and game theory. By keeping your bankrolls separate, you can focus your efforts and strategy on each activity individually, which can help improve your overall success.

Another reason to keep your money separate is to manage your risk. Sports betting and poker have different levels of variance and risk, so it's important to manage your bankroll accordingly. By having a separate bankroll for each activity, you can limit your exposure to risk and ensure that you don't lose all of your money on one bad bet or one bad session at the poker table.

In summary, it's best to keep your poker and sports betting money separate. This will help you stay organized, manage your risk, and focus your efforts and strategy on each activity individually. Good luck with your gambling endeavors!

The chances of you winning long term at any of these endeavors are minimal. One too five percent maximum and players that do tat are the cream of the crop.
You maybe working two jobs to finance a habit.
Invest spare money in stocks, and when you get enough, buy real estate.

I would not mix the 2 accounts personally. Poker is a skill game where you have control of the action. Sports betting you are using skill to make a good, educated choice but it is out of your control.

Yes, the best thing is not to mix any of the 2 games... if you make sports bets you must keep a statistical control of your results.

You can handle it however you see fit, if it is true that in my opinion having it separately gives you the advantage of knowing how you are doing in each one and in which one you have invested the best.

I believe that it is very important in any business to be able to diversify financial risks. Personally, I would never keep money in just one place. But also a lot depends on the amount in question.

Yeah definitely split them. I've made a mistake of merging a casino/sport/poker balance and it ended in a bad way.

Unless you are very organized to keep a record of your poker and sports bets winnings separate, the best option for me is to keep separate your poker money and your sports bets money.

Best to keep them separate so you know how much you are winning (or losing) in each of them.

It is best to have separate bankrolls and as a recommendation to have some money allocated to sports betting and regardless of the result, do not recharge in case you lose everything, put a specific date for how often and what amount you have allocated for sports betting, in case of win try to withdraw what you have won so as not to lose it, that is how I handle myself because I love sports betting but I am terrible:cry::LOL::p:p

Personally id suggest you go with your instinct Andy keep them separate. You’ll manage them better as separate entities to each other.

Definitely yes, it will help in rational disposal of funds and you will not be tempted to overdo it in one direction with the amount of money for the game.

funny that people here in CC talk alot of long term win/profit in poker, but you constantly discourage new members about that

I think it's better to separate your 2 bankrolls. It can protect your poker bankroll (for example) if you some of your bets fail. And it's easier to read your personal statistics and ROI when the bankrolls are separated.

You have to keep them separate because in poker it's about math and it's not good to do other activities with the bankroll. This would only lead to gambling on several fronts.

My advice is to stop betting on sports, most sports games are bought. And it's stupid not to understand. At a distance of 100% minus, even if you are a master of game analysis and statistics. Think at whose expense the bookmakers live? Only if there is a verified info about the contract can be delivered.

I would recommend keeping them separate, how are you going to know when you are better at one or the other? I rarely bet on the horses now and never bet on Football etc. So keeping check on my gambling is real easy, If I go to a Casino or Race track I keep my money in separate pockets so that the two never mix, I will set a budget on what I am prepared to lose in one pocket and my own personal money separated in another.
That way I never go totally broke as my personal cash is never used for wagers or buy-ins. I have always gambled that way, and as the saying goes "When it's gone, It's Gone!"
I enjoy having a flutter now and again so yes I am a gambler, but there is a huge difference between being a Gambler and Compulsive Gambler, set your limits and stick to them.

I think bankrolls should be separate for poker and sports betting.

Good morning everyone, in my opinion it is not good to play sports betting because in the long run it is not a profitable game, now that depends on each person if they want to play good luck.
If we take the odd or even pair, the chance of winning is 50% and the chance of losing is 50%, so it is mathematically impossible to be profitable in a game where mathematical probability does not allow it.
In sports betting, bookmakers do mathematical calculations to offer odds where the house will always have a mathematical advantage, it is a game that in the long term the players will lose money, because there is one or another player who can win money, but this is the exception .
Casino is also another way to lose money fast.
To earn money it is necessary to study and practice a lot of poker, as it is a game that depends on your technical knowledge to earn money easily.
I study almost nothing and I'm profitable at every poker site I play.

Well i have the same "bankroll" for gambling overall so it probably doesnt matter should i go "waste" it on bingo, poker, betting, casino or somewhere else (or in all of them combined) ...
