The game had a huge impact on my mental health. The lack of stable sleep, and constant stressful situations made a difference. At night, because of stress, I could not sleep for a long time, because I was overwhelmed with emotions, both positive and negative. Therefore, after a certain amount of time, I had to seek help. I tried to cope with the stress with the help of various sedatives, but their side effects turned out to be very awful for me. I didn't feel sane, I felt like I was drunk all the time. That's why, I decided to try cbd gummies. Plant of life CBD gummies canada really helped me calm down and get a stable and restful sleep. And the best part is that I don't have side effects like I do from sedatives. Sometimes I feel more and more like this game is just going to kill me.

Poker can indeed be good for your mental health, as long as it is being played in moderation and prudence and in addition to being good for your health, the dynamics of the game can bring you life experience.
On the other hand, if you are playing for many consecutive hours, it could be harmful to your health and lead to addictions.

Poker sometimes helps my mental health, because it teaches me to be patient and also understand that doesn't matter how many superstitions do you have, sometimes live runs in a way that we could never understand or control. So I recommend to take the best things of poker and apply it into your life

To me, mainly sleep is affected as well. Intense poker sessions, especially during tournaments which start after 7-8 pm and last for hours. The emotional swings can also be challenging to handle, but with regular breaks it is all under control for now.

Poker, like any competitive activity, can have both positive and negative impacts on mental health. Here are some ways in which poker can affect your mental well-being:

  1. Stress and Pressure: Poker can be a high-pressure game, especially in competitive settings or when playing for significant stakes. The pressure to perform well, make the right decisions, and handle swings in luck can cause stress and anxiety. This can have a negative impact on mental health if not properly managed.
  2. Emotional Rollercoaster: Poker involves both winning and losing, and the ups and downs can create an emotional rollercoaster. Experiencing the highs of winning and the lows of losing can lead to mood swings, frustration, disappointment, and even tilt (emotional instability that affects decision-making). Managing these emotions and maintaining a healthy perspective is crucial for mental well-being.
  3. Discipline and Resilience: Poker requires discipline, resilience, and the ability to handle setbacks. Losing streaks, bad beats, and variance are all part of the game, and learning to cope with these challenges can build mental resilience. However, prolonged or repeated negative experiences without proper coping mechanisms can impact mental health negatively.
  4. Decision-Making Skills: Poker involves making complex decisions under uncertain conditions. Continuously analyzing and evaluating situations can improve cognitive skills, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. These skills can have positive impacts on mental health, as they contribute to problem-solving and adaptability.
  5. Social Interaction: Poker is often played in a social setting, whether it's at a casino, a home game, or online. The social aspect can provide opportunities for connection, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Engaging in social activities can have positive effects on mental health, as it promotes socialization and a sense of belonging.
It's important to note that everyone's experience with poker and its impact on mental health can vary. Some individuals may find poker to be enjoyable, challenging, and beneficial to their mental well-being, while others may experience more negative effects. It's crucial to maintain a healthy balance, practice responsible play, develop coping strategies for handling emotions, and seek support if needed.

If you find that poker or its associated challenges are significantly impacting your mental health, it's recommended to seek professional help from a therapist or counselor who can provide guidance and support.

I think it can be underappreciated how significant being in a good "head space" is to being successful at poker. Bad beats are going to happen, losses are going to happen, downswings (sometimes very significant ones) are going to happen. That's just a fact. If you can't handle this variance, and if you aren't open to honestly seeing how you can improve your game, you are going to suffer. You could get angry and frustrated. That's not good for anyone.

The more you practice letting things go, moving on to the next hand, and not letting your frustration linger, the better things will be for you. A poker coach I used to follow (and had the privilege of a few sessions with) used to use the phrase, "So be it."

An ugly wet board means your pocket aces are very likely in trouble and you have to fold to heavy post-flop action. So be it.

You opponent hits a two-outer on the river. So be it.

You are card dead for an entire hour. So be it.

Mental health is everything in poker. If you don't have that, you have nothing. You must work on your game and also on your peace of mind that will make you a great poker player.

In which way does poker affect your mental health? For me It sometimes impacts my sleep schedule plus some fatigue sometimes
This happened to me a lot. But it's not about poker, it's about your mental reaction to the nature of poker. You have to be prepared and used to the natural fluctuations of the game. The study and analysis of your game brings security and emotional stability to give you when you already know what to expect from your best and worst there is no surprise or stress for winning or sadness for losing...

Things like playing a tournament for 3-4 hours only to lose to a worse hand before getting in the money are incredibly mentally exhausting.... difficult to deal with that.

In truth, at least I believe, that if your mental state in your daily life is normal, poker being a game in which you must use your understanding to the maximum should not affect you at all, on the contrary it should strengthen you mentally.
My wife always tells me that it is very likely that I will not have neurological diseases in the future thanks to poker.
I think she's a little crazy hahahaha
Greetings:):):)

Hello:)
If we do not use any kind of drugs, I do not see that poker may seriously affect the player's mind. Rather, I see that it improves our memory, intelligence, and the strength of our concentration.
The most important thing is to respect bankroll rules and playing times.

in Poker it is very important with what mood you sit down to play! More than one game I lost when I sat down to play or was not in the mood or simply did not want to play.

I don't let poker affect my mental health. I stay within my means and bankroll, so it's easier to help maintain my mental health in poker. Although, my poker game is definitely affected by my daily mental health and how I'm feeling, and life events going on. I try to avoid playing poker when I know I'm feeling down, but sometimes I use poker as an escape or to help with bordem as well, and when I'm not into the game, it affects my gameplay.

I don't quite understand the question, but poker is definitely a mental sport, which if not controlled can become addictive, but within the normal range and under control, it is mentally a healthy game

Sometimes playing poker can affect my mental health. Dealing with the game's natural variations and facing moments of defeat can be challenging. It is important to recognize that things do not always go as planned and that there are aspects beyond my control. To preserve my mental health, I try to set limits and balance my game time with other activities that bring me pleasure and relaxation. I also seek support and talk to other players to share experiences and learn healthy ways to deal with poker's emotional ups and downs. Prioritizing my mental well-being is key to continuing to enjoy the game in a healthy way.
