Wow, that is so cool!Poker scenes will be great because I helped in this area a lot:

I have more I wanted to put in this blog, but I had to sign an NDA. I'm supposed to get the green light here soon though to talk more about it.
But it will be a good movie. Good actors, good director and writer. It's going to be good.
I wish you hadn't made the comparison to Titanic. I hated that movie..... Producers realise this, which is why they make disgraceful movies like Titantic ....
I haven't seen it yet but I will because I think the story is compelling.
I read a very similar review to your conclusions. Basically a well-written movie, but this is NOT the next Rounders. I understand that there are also some scenes with illogical poker play (a shame that even if the focus of the movie isn't on poker itself, they didn't get some pro to advise how to actually play the game).
From what I read, if you go in expecting a move about poker play, you will be disappointed. So not a bad movie at all, but you have to understand what you're watching.
Overall a very enjoyable movie. Well cast & tightly directed. I'm not a poker player but the games were interesting & you very quickly get caught up in the story.
One major negative for my wife & I was the last half hour that moved at glacial speed. Another movie that was far too long & contrived to knit the plot neatly together.
Fascinating but turgid.
Most of the comments on "Rotten Tomato" ran in the positive vein. Go see it, I believe you'll find it entertaining.
