i imagine it's beatable since the quality of play is so bad there (i can actually speak from experience now since i played some micros to beat some of the full tilt academy challenges)

but that's still some nasty rake definitely

Friday Blog - Day 7

Sorry for not getting back on part two of my last blog. We are going to have to live without it. One week under my belt and not as much as I wanted or needed to show for it. I'm still pretty behind schedule (If not more behind schedule) and I need to use Saturday and Sunday to catch up if I don't want to play all day Monday. Overall, the last two days were good and right where I needed to be. This is in part to a 7.75$ bonus promotion I unlocked. There is always like ten things going on a Full Tilt that you can bank in on. Overall, I only played 3 hours and 26 minutes which puts me another 2 and a half hours behind where I need to be time wise. I either need to increase the time I play or the amount of tables. We shall see the next couple days. I plan to start playing mini-FTOPS satellites when I get the bankroll (hopefully soon. If I win won of these satellites I can get into a much bigger tournament which will allow me to make a big tournament win and get much closer to my goal. Anywho here is the session log...

Friday Blog - Part 2

Summary of Big Hands:
I only played Friday but Friday's sessions kicked off with Pot-Limit Holdem and almost all of the big action took place at the same table (The Razon table).

The first big hand came about half an hour into my session and it was a big cooler for the guy it was against. I bet every step of the way to a 3.28$ pot where my set of fives were big favorites on the flop and were out turned with his pair of aces turning into a set. Finally I out rivered him and hit the case five taking down 3.28$ and the big pot.

The only other big hand (Above 2.50$) of the night for me was the biggest PLHE hand of the night easily that I saw and that I have won yet. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

We then moved to Pot Limit Omaha which was fun times. Just as many big hands (3.00$ for Pot Limit Omaha) and they both came late.

The first hand saw my set go down to a rivered flush and lost a hefty 5.41$. I'd rather show the 5.11$ pot that I won on this beauty of a hand which also turned out to be one of the last of my session.

Friday Blog Q & A

Q: Isn't .01/.02 PLO and .01/.02 NLHE out of your bankroll range?
A: Yes but everyone starts somewhere and I am starting here. It's not like everyone just wins or deposits 100$ into their account. Some do it the old fashioned way and start with less then they need and still work their way up. That's why I plan to emulate.

Q: Why did you quit your last challenge and start a harder one?
A: The last site i was playing on couldn't be accessed by computers in my area for some reason (I still haven't been able to access it). I felt wiser and more prepared so I made the challenge a bit different. I don't believe it is too much harder though.

Q: How did you rake up so many FT points in so little time?
A: All FT points came from me playing during happy hours. I tend to be online during peak hours so I get double the points. Also there was a promotion right when i started that I got double points for playing multiple tables which quadrupled my points.

Sunday Blog - Day 9

It seemed every time I would start a sessions with the intention of doing a long session I would have something come up. It was unfortunate that I didn't get my week done like I wanted because now I will have to double dose my poker for next week with a midterm coming. The good news though is my cousin had a baby girl and she is ok. Congrats to her and shout out to little baby Gracie. Anywho, on to business. It was a no poker Saturday and a filled with poker Sunday (to an extent). I wish I could have logged more hours but I didn't and I will be making those up mostly on Monday and most of next week. Sunday Blog - Part 2

Summary of Big Hands

Holdem

I played about 3 hours of holdem and in that time there was a number of big hands. My first session had so many big hands that I am only going to talk about those bigger then 3.50$. My first hand happened almost right away at table 1. I had a pair of aces and bet big. My opponent hit a pair of jacks on the flop which made him raise and call my all-in bet. No help for him on the turn and river pulled a 4.28$ pot my way. The next big hand came on the back-end of my session. A raise by me and a reraise by my opponent almost made me fold but after time I decided to call with a Q on the flop giving me top pair top kicker. My opponent went all-in and I quickly called with him showing AK. No help for him on the turn and river and I won a hefty 3.68$. In my mini-session at 5pm there were back to back big hands at table 4 (one a loss and one a win. The first was a win of 4.03$. On a board of A A Q 4 5 my opponent held A J and called down my all-in as I held Q Q. The next unfortunately was a huge loss hand which also turend out ot be the biggest hand of the day in holdem. Here it is:

Omaha

Omaha wasn't as eventful but I still had some hands to show. Both losses unfortunately. With no big hands happening in my later mini-session I go to my early omaha session. The first saw me watch a 3.87$ pot go bye-bye to a rivered straight. The second a bigger pot saw my ace high straight get turned then see me not be able to get away from my hand;

Sunday Blog Q & A

Q: Have you won a lot of money playing poker?
A: I wouldn't consider the amount I have won in my year of playing to be a lot.

Wednesday Blog - Day 12

I tried my best to get in as much poker as possible and tried to catch up by increasing my table load at times. I'm not sure how well it worked. I am still behind by 2 days (I caught up by one day). It was my intention to get home and play before tonights blog but it wasn't in the cards (literally). As you can see a poker player needs to devote a lot of time and engergy to put in enough effort to be successful. Hence the term grinding. Therefore lets take a look into my upcoming schedule for the week. Tomorrow, I have class from 10:30am - 3:30pm (3 classes no breaks) after which I will be heading home and hoping to log either a 3 hour session or a one and a half hour session at 8 tables. Friday morning/afternoon I am hoping to catch up on a session by logging six hours of poker in before dance class on Friday night. Saturday will be one session with some hang out time for my friends and Sunday will be an all day poker fest to not only catch up on whatever I miss but also to catch up as far as money sine I will be on day 16 by then and should be to the next level. As with anything you have to acount for variable change...

Session Log:

Shitty Graph (This is probably the worst graph I've ever done and I apologize. My next one will be far more coherent and easire to read and follow. Consider this a first try, Graph days will be Wednesdays from now on)

Wednesday Blog - Part 2

Summary of Big Hands
Due to the inrease in tables played it was harder to keep track of the big hands so I increased the increment for a big hand to qualify to 4.00$ for each type of poker (this is equivalent to the max buy-in*2). I will keep it this way for a while.
Holdem
There were no No Limit Holdem hands that qualified. I played considerably less holdem then omaha.
Omaha
The first hand saw me win 5.62$ because i kept max betting with my nut-flush and my opponent kept calling down with trip 8's eventually just dumping it off to me. The second and only other big hand saw me lose a cooler which tbh maybe could have been avoided but I'll let you be the judge of that;

Sunday Blog - Day 16

Sorry I missed Friday's blog everybody but I just had so much going on and was so pissed about the day I had that I decided not to. I didn't reach my goal as I had planned though I do believe I caught up on the time. On Friday I had a really bad down swing that had me stunned for a bit but I was up the next day trucking. I have made up the down swing though I am still very behind so I came up with a plan to not only catch up but possibly jump very high. There is a Mini-FTOPS series coming up which has high prize pools and entrants with satellites reasonably priced for me. So I have decided to try and satellite my way into as many of the events as I possibly can without jeopardizing my bankroll. My first try got me one seat to the first event which is May 6th at 6:05pm PST. First place is 32,000 ATM though there is still two days to register so I assume there will be more. Wish me luck as I could possibly finish the challenge (though 1st out of probably 10k + will be very unlikely).
